Chan was woken up the next morning by a sweet scent. Rubbing his eyes he sat up and yawned, before realizing he wasn't in his bed. Looking around the room, he saw Jackson sleeping on the bed next to him. Even more confused he walked to the kitchen, where BamBam and Mark were making pancakes.
"Hi Chan! Slept well?" greeted BamBam when he saw the younger standing at the door.
"Hi" answered Chan, rubbing his eyes again.
"We made pancakes, come have breakfast with us" invited Mark flipping a pancake in the pan. Chan hesitantly took a place next to his best friend, who had just finished setting up the table.
"What day is it today?" whispered the younger, embarassed.
"The 26th of December" whispered back the Thai boy.
"How much time..." started Chan, but didn't continue. BamBam knew what he meant though.
"You've been little almost all day yesterday"
Chan immediately started to apologize, but the older stopped him.
"Trust me, it's fine. You looked like you needed to destress a little. Little you told me what happened, and it's not in any way your fault. I've told you countless times, it's not your fault if you forget something, both in your little space and out of it" BamBam lowered his voice after the first sentence, keeping it loud enough so only his friend could hear.
Chan just nodded with a smile, grateful to have BamBam as his friend more that words could could ever describe.
Just then, a stack of pancakes was placed in front of him. Chan couldn't help but notice that the fruit disposed on top of the treat was placed in the shape of a smiley face. Smiling, he thanked Mark and dug in his food, instantly widening his eyes at how good the food was.
"This is so good!" complimented Chan, words muffled by the food in his mouth.
"Don't talk with food in your mouth Channie, hm?" reminded BamBam. He always used that nickname when the younger did something wrong but wasn't little, so technically the Thai boy couldn't scold him.
Chan nodded and focused on his food, only stopping once the plate was empty.
"It's better if you go back to your dorm and fix things between you and Jeongin, hm?" suggested BamBam once they were all done with their breakfast.
"Yeah, I should. Thanks for the breakfast, by the way" smiled Chan gratefully.
"No problem!" reassured Mark, who was loading the dishwasher.
"Now go!" laughed BamBam, handing the younger his backpack, already packed.
"Thanks, I'll keep you updated" promised Chan before running back to his dorm. No one was there but a note could be seen on the table.
'Chan hyung, me and Seungie are at the mall to grab some food.
Text me if you need something, we can get it for you.
Lix'Chan shook his head. The only thing he needed was Jeongin's presence, so they could sort everything out. The youngest would probably arrive soon, so the leader decided to use the time efficiently and make some music while waiting. Putting his headphones on, but keeping the volume low so he could hear the maknae come home, Chan started to play around with some beats, until he heard the front door open. Not hearing any other sound, the oldest started to think it was Jeongin, since Seungmin wouldn't be so quiet while regressed. Sure enough, the door to Jeongin's room opened and Chan decided to grab that chance.
When Jeongin found Chan standing at the door he got furious. How dared he show up after abandoning him? Shoving him out of the way the younger closed the door. The oldest pleaded again, he really just wanted to talk to him and fix everything, but Jeongin wouldn't listen to him, blaming Seungmin for everything.
Wanting to defend the little, the leader got angry and said hurtful words to the maknae that still wouldn't open the door. After hearing a sob come from inside, though, he stopped and ran back to his room. He had messed up again. He didn't mean to. Deciding that he hadn't the right to cry after hurting the younger once again, Chan looked at the drawer of his nightstand, that contained paperclips, cutters and other sharp objects. Shaking his head, he cursed himself for not throwing them out, but immediately reminded himself that the other members could've found them in the trash. Hearing the front door open once again he tried to put on a smile and went to greet Seungmin and Felix, who had just returned. After laughing a bit with the little he talked to Felix in English, explaining how he had messed up and asking the dancer to talk to the youngest.
The little sunshine couldn't stand anyone crying, so of course he accepted and without any hesitation he comforted the maknae after he let him in. Felix listened calmly to the youngest's point of view, and when he was finished he explained the leader's point of view, asking Jeongin if he could forgive Chan, because he knew he did wrong. When the dancer received a nod, he cleaned up the maknae's face with a paper tissue and took him to the living room. The leader was tickling Seungmin to make him laugh, but as soon as the other vocalist entered the room, he stopped and apologised, this time earning forgiveness. Smiling he thanked the youngest and followed Felix to the kitchen, leaving the two younger members alone.
