Chapter Thirteen| Eliana
T/W- rapeI catch up to the rest of the group, and they frown at me. Why the hell are they frowning?
"Can I just say how much of a waste of time this was? Pointless." River complains, and I ignore her, rolling my eyes.
"Have you got anything?"
"Managed to get some files from the office. It was empty, nobody was in there. I have no idea what the hell this all is, but we should get out of here." Creed answers, holding up a chunky-looking file.
"Where is Reid?!" Brad exclaims.
"He's behind—" I turn around and pause because Reid is most definitely not behind me. Oh. I turn back around and the others all just stare at me. "I'm just gonna go and have a look for him." I smile at them, walking back until I'm a good distance away, and then run back for him.
My face drops, and panic begins to settle because how can I not notice that he's just disappeared?
"Reid?!" I yell over the blaring of the alarm. "Reid, you motherfucker, where are you?!" I exclaim, rounding the corner to see him on the floor, huddled in a corner with his eyes clenched shut, and his hands covering his ears.
I check my surroundings, and when I see nobody else is there, I carefully approach him, not wanting to startle him. He's rocking back and forth, muttering words I can't hear properly.
I slowly crouch down in front and his eyes shoot open, fear clear on his face, and it worries me.
"It's just me. Ellie." I speak softly after reaching out to pry his hands away from his ears. "Just me, Reid."
"Ellie." He whimpers, and pulls me into his arms, and I fall onto his lap. I want to say now isn't the best time to be having this comforting session, but something has clearly spooked him for him to be reacting like this. "Ellie." He repeats my name continuously as I multitask comforting him, and scoping the area so nobody suddenly decides to jump out and shoot at us.
"We need to go, Reid. It's not safe here." Pulling away from him is a struggle as he follows me with wide panicked eyes. "Where's your gun?" I look around on the floor and then pat his cargos but find nothing.
He's still in some kind of shock as he stands in front of me, frozen. His eyes are constantly on me. I grab a hold of his hand and try my hardest to lead us back to the group, having to shoot with my left hand at every man who tries to get in the way, and it's a struggle.
"What's happened?!" Brad questions, checking Reid over and frowns when he comes across no injuries.
"He's in shock, I don't know what happened, Brad," I speak impatiently, trying to pull my hand out of Reid's hold, but he doesn't let go. I give him a reassuring smile and look at Ivan. "What is this, Ivan?" I wave my hand about.
"The destruction of Angel's, it's just one less bad place that Baker owns." He smirks, and I can't say I'm not glad. "The girls will be taken care of if that's what you're worried about." I let out a sigh of relief and follow the others out toward a back alley where a van is waiting with Elena as the driver.
Hell no!
"You can't drive."
"I can." She snorts.
"The last time you drove, we crashed into a tree." I deadpan.
"That was one time, Eliana, let a girl live. Now get in bitches." Everybody climbs into the van, and I turn back to Ivan.
