Chapter Forty-Seven | Eliana

"You woke me up in the middle of the night because these two wanted to go gallivanting?" I roll my eyes at a half-asleep Creed, who rubs aggressively at his eyes, pouting like a child.

The only people who are asleep right now are the kids and King's wife.

I switch my gaze to King, who already has a glare set on myself and Reid who stand in front of his desk like naughty school kids who just got detention.

"I've had it up to here with you two." King grits, lifting his hand above his head to demonstrate how far he's had it.

"Same here." Creed pipes up and I throw him a scowl, mouthing to him to go and fuck himself. He smirks menacingly and lifts his head. Idiot.

King points a finger at Reid whose back tenses. "I left you in fucking charge, Reid. You're twenty-fucking-eight-years of age acting like you're eighteen again!" He hisses and my eyes widen. Damn. Then he points at me, and I almost shit myself. "And you! I thought you were fucking smarter than this. You're an assassin, not a fucking detective. You don't just go sneaking out, putting yourself in danger!"

"I was fine—"

"That is not the fucking point!" He smacks his hand on the table, and I flinch. "What if there was an ambush? What if it was all a trap?"

"It was Reid and Ross' sister, it was not a trap, King." In the corner of my eye, I sense Ross tensing.

"What do you mean sister?" Ross questions and I swallow, turning my head in his direction.

"Your mother had been pregnant. She had given birth to Rosie just before you three were taken. Your memories of her were removed, hence why you couldn't remember her. She was taken to another facility, where Baker raised her like she was his own. She discovered what type of man he is, found out about you and came looking for us. That girl is no threat." I say my last sentence to King. "She has put her life at risk here to help us. Baker could kill her at any moment now that she has compromised herself." Ross stays silent, glaring at the ground keeping his thoughts to himself.

"What did she tell you?"

"It's what she showed me," I reveal the blueprint and lay it on King's desk. The whole group gathered around to look at it with wide eyes. "Baker has been in an unauthorised facility this whole time. It's untraceable to the government. Only a pinch full of people knows about it, one of those people being Rosie Warner."

Nobody says a word.

"The assassin that nearly killed Ellie was forced to pretend she was Rosie. She had her ID card but said that she was merely just a distraction. She never wanted to kill Ellie. Baker had forced her."

"But how is Baker forcing and controlling these assassins if he is hiding away himself?" Noah questions, rubbing the top of his brow with a confused look.

"Did you know about Rosie, Noah? Have you seen this place before?" He recoils at my questions, his brows creasing even deeper than they already were. I raise a brow, waiting for him to answer.

"No, Eliana. What are you accusing me of?" He tilts his head, hurt on his face and I swallow the lump in my throat.

"You worked for him once. Out of everybody, you would have the most intel." I shrug.

"I was kept in the dark just as much as you. I was forced to work there, Eliana. I was only twenty when I was groomed into working there." He whispers, the hurt still visible and his eyes glaze over causing him to blink a little quicker. Now I feel bad.
