"Guess I couldn't keep my promise"

Just as I was about to jump I heard someone behind me say,"What promise?" I slowly turned around to see someone just about the same height as me, looking up at me. "Umm" I said looking down at him. "You don't have to tell me, but you do have to tell me why you're up there." I slowly turned back around not wanting to have to look at him. "I, I was going to end my worthless life." I said looking back up at the sky. "Your life isn't worthless" He said, almost as if he knew me. "Yea right, like you even know me." I said a little annoyed. 'Why is this guy even talking to me, leave me alone' I thought to my self. "Your right, I don't know you. But everyone has a purpose for living, I once was standing right where you are, thinking the same thing, but someone told me that I had a reason for living. And I know you do to." He said the most simple thing that many other people in my life have told me but for some reason hearing it from him made me break down in tears. I jumped down from the edge and ran into his arms. I don't care if he is a stranger and I have no clue who he is, I feel like I've know him my whole life. I just kept crying into his chest, feeling comfort in his touch. I've never felt this way in my life. He didn't say anything, he just held me and I soon fell asleep in his arms.

~Time Skip~

I woke up to bright lights and sounds, I looked around to see what looks like a hospital room. I looked over next to me to see Evan and Jack next to me.

"Eve!" Jack yelled as he ran up to me hugging me really tight. "H-hi Jack." I said weakly. I looked over at Evan, he looked like he was crying. "E-Evan?" I say looking over at him. He doesn't move a muscle. "A-are you o-okay." He slowly looks up at me, I can see tears falling down his face. "Why didn't you tell me?" He said sadly. I gave him confused look. "Dad, the thoughts?" He said, even more tears running down his face. I felt terrible for keeping it from him, I just didn't want him to hurt. "I-I just didn't want to hurt you." I said slowly and sadly. I think Jack had noticed we needed some alone time so he left the room.

~Time Skip~

After a while of talking, hanging out, and some other stuff, Evan and Jack had to go so they said goodbye and left. I had some questions for the doctors so I called them on my button thingy.

"Yes Miss?" A doctor said as they came in. "O-oh umm, I have a few questions. Also don't call me Miss, call me Evelyn." "Yes Miss, I mean Evelyn." The doctor said. "Umm, do you know who brought me here?" I asked. "I'm afraid we don't, they never gave us any information about who they were." She said. "Oh, ok." I said looking down.

"Oh, we also have some news for you. You will be discharged tomorrow morning, your dad has been put in jail for about 4 years and Jack said that his mom is fine with you and your brother staying there." The doctor said before she left. "Ok" I said. I should probably text Jack and Evan.

Hey Jack, just wanted to tell you that I'm getting discharged tomorrow morning.

Yay!!! I'll see you tomorrow then?

Me:
Yup!
