Falling down to the bottom.

"AUSTIN! Why?!" I scream. I get up and run down to him. I sit next to him crying as hard as I can. "WHY?! It was supposed to be me!!"

I get up and run to the closest house. Someone walks out as I'm banging ing on the door. I quickly tell them to call 911 and run back to Austin.

~Time Skip~

I was sitting in the waiting room half asleep when someone called my name. I walk over to the lady and she tells me to follow her. After what felt like forever we walk into his room. I look at the lady and she nods her head. I slowly walk over to him and sit down in the chair next to his bed.

"Right now he's in a coma. He broke a lot of bones, it's going to take a while to heal but he should be ok." I nodded my head and looked over at him. As the lady left I grabbed his hand and looked up at his face, so calm and unaware of the pain he's in.

Why did he have to do that? It was supposed to be me.

I couldn't help but feel this was my fault. I couldn't stay here, no... I don't deserve to be here.

I quickly got up and left. I can't go back, not after what I did.

~Time Skip~

(Austin's POV)
All of a sudden I hear loud beeps and see bright lights. That's when I realized I was in the hospital. I tried to get up but it hurt so bad. I called for a nurse and she came running in.

"Thank god you're awake!" She yelled and ran off. I was so confused until she came back with a bunch of people. They were all checking my vitals and stuff.

"Ummm... excuse me?" I asked a lady next to me. "Yes?" She responded. "Has someone come in to see me named Evelyn?" She stood there for a second in thought. "Oh yes, she came to see you when you first got here, but then I heard her saying that she didn't deserve to be here and that it was her fault and then she left and never came back."

I immediately felt horrible, how could she think that? It wasn't her fault, it was never her fault.

"Oh." I said quietly. "Do you know where my phone is?" I asked the lady. She looked at me for a moment and then walked off.

How rude?!

A few moments later she walked back in and handed me my phone.

Ok, I take back what I said.

I quickly say thank you and then look at my phone. The screen is completely shattered, but somehow still completely usable. I open it and scroll through my contacts. I stop and click on Eve's. I look at it for a moment before I decide to call her.

(Eve's POV)
I haven't gone back to see Austin since that day. It's been a full 3 months and I have regretted everyday. It should've been me, I should be in that hospital bed... not him. I should just die already, I don't deserve to be alive in his place.

*ring ring*

My phone goes off pulling me out of my thoughts. I pick it up to look at whose calling.

Austin.

Everything is telling me to not pick it up and that I don't deserve to, but there's a little voice in the back of my head telling me to answer it.

Usually I won't listen to that little voice, but there's something different about that voice. Unlike all the other times, this voice is the voice of the one person I trust most, the one person who will listen to and believe me no matter what, the one person I have found to love more than anything in this world. That one person is my best friend, Austin.

Without thinking twice I press the answer button and bring my phone to my ear.

"Austin?"
