The next morning I woke up to find an empty spot in the bed where Austin was supposed to be. My heart immediately stoped. I jumped up out of bed and ran out of the bedroom calling his name.
'What if he was kidnapped?!'
"Austin!!" I yell running into the living room. "Eve, what's wrong?" He says walking out of the kitchen. I immediately feel relieved and run over to him hugging him so tight. "It's ok, I'm here." He says stroking my hair.
"Eve, what happened?" He asked me after I had calmed down. "When I woke up you weren't there and I thought you had gotten kidnapped." I said a little embarrassed.
"Why are you acting like that?" He asked. I just looked down. "Come on, you can tell me." He says, nudging my arm. "I'm a little embarrassed" I admit. "Why?" He asks a little surprised. "I don't know..." I say looking away. The next thing I knew Austin had lightly grabbed my chin with his thumb and Index fingers forcing me to look at him.
(Austin's POV)
"You can tell me." I say staring into Eve's eyes. She doesn't even say anything and stares back at me. It's the same thing that happened last night in the snow.
I just can't stop staring. 'Why can't I stop?!' I think to myself. 'D-do I like my best friend? No, I can't. Can I?' I snap out of my thoughts and just look away letting go of her face. "I'll go finish breakfast." I say getting up and walking away.
"Yeah" She says still sitting on the couch.
(Eve's POV)
I sit down at the table and eat breakfast. It's really awkward, just like last night. We sit there silently eating, not even a laugh, or Austin making a really bad joke. Just silence.
~Time Skip to when Eve is back at Jackson's moms~
"Hey mom." I say walking up to give her a hug. "Hi honey, how was it?" She says pulling away. "It was ok." I say going to sit down on the couch. "Just, ok?" She says going back to cutting up vegetables. "Yea... something's just off between us right now." I say looking up at her. "Ok then."

It's been about an hour and I just got a text from Austin.
~Austin☺️~
Austin☺️: Since things have been a little off I was wondering if you wanted to go to a party and just forget about what's going on between us right now and just have fun
Me: Sure!
Austin☺️: Ok! I'll pick you up at 8:00
Me: Ok
Looks like I'm going to a party. I have to pick a cute outfit to wear!

I run downstairs and walk over to mom. "I'm going to a party with Austin." I say, hugging her. "Ok, stay safe." She says hugging me back. "I will, bye!" I say walking outside. I run over and hop in the passenger seat of Austin's car. "Let's go!" I yell as Austin drives away from the house. When we get there, there is so many people just hanging outside in the front.
