A Corrupt Mercy Soul (Undertale Au)

The start of a new beginning (Chapter 13)

-excerpt from Shi's perspective, in the form of a diary entry-

"it's been another three weeks since we have arrived at this Au... I've locked myself in my room as I've noticed strange things happening to me, my paws have now gotten a black fade to them, as well as my tail, my ears and my hind paws as well. Kai has been quiet still... but I don't feel much like myself anymore... like something's changing. I want to talk to Ryu about it.... but he can't help with this as it's... clearly internal... and he can't just manipulate a soul like that. I don't want things to change here... Ryu and Draco have been asking if I'm alright and when I'm going to leave my room. I'm scared... I don't know what to do... or who to go to... Kai was right... being in this blissful Au wouldn't last forever."


-6 days later, another excerpt from Shi's perspective-

"Heh... it's almost here... whatever that big change is... it's almost here... Ryu and Draco have grown more and more worried about the fact I'm still locked inside my room. Kai started talking again... he told me that tomorrow is the end of this perfect story... I fear that I'll lose myself to whatever causes the end of this so-called perfect story... I don't feel much like myself anymore... I feel like a different person... I pray that tomorrow everything gets better... I hope it does... Kai keeps telling me it won't, but I know it will..."


-The next day, back to regular description of the story-

Shi got up from their bed and they looked at their paws as they were hoping for the nightmare that was foretold to not happen, Shi: "why... do I look the same as yesterday...?". 𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐠, their eyes widened as their eyes had become pink and hot pink, with a glow, as their eyes whites had turned black, their soul appeared out of their chest, as it was now half dark green and half a mix of pink and hot pink, unlike how it was before. Shi was now controlled by Kai just like before, Shi: "time to end this little charade", Shi would walk out of their bedroom, to be met with Ryu and Draco in front of them, Ryu: "Shi you finally came out of your room, are you ok?!", Draco: "do you need help?!". Shi grabbed Ryu's arm and lead him out of the house, Ryu: "uhm... Shi... buddy, are you ok?", Shi: "I'm more than just ok, Ry Ry; I'm wonderful", Ryu: "Shi... you look different than before... what happened?", Shi would drag Ryu to an open field away from the city. 𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐠, the spirit appeared beside Shi's head as Shi's eyes turned one being a mix of pink and hot pink and the other on being light blue, with white eye whites. Shi grabbed their dagger and pointed it towards Ryu, Shi: "you lose at this game of cat and mouse, Ryu, or should I say, Ry Ry", Shi's personality had flipped completely upside down.

Ryu took a step back and summoned crystal shards around his right hand, Ryu: "who are you and what have you done with Shi?", Shi took a step towards Kai and laughed a bit, Shi: "poor, Ry Ry, you're so easy to fool, I'm the real Shi... but you can't stop a corruption with your useless words and hugs!", Ryu threw crystal shards at Shi as his tail flicked, Ryu: "stay back, Shi... this isn't you... I know it isn't", Shi deflected the crystals with their dagger, then they swiped their dagger across Ryu's chest, causing Ryu to bleed from the wound and to glow a bit, Ryu: "heh...", Ryu then turned to dust, leaving behind a light green slightly broken heart locket, that Shi picked up and put on. Asher ran up to Shi and summoned a sword from their book, Shi slashed their dagger against their cheek, and moved back, Shi: "don't get involved Asher", Asher: "you killed my friend, you monster!", Asher swung their sword at Shi, Shi stepped to the side out of the way of the swing. Shi would swipe their dagger against the side of Asher's throat, as they'd move out of the way of Asher swinging the sword again, Shi: "give up, Asher", they swiped their dagger across the side of the top of Asher's head, Shi: "you lose", Kai: "good job, Shi". Shi walked off to the snowy forest near the city, with Kai following beside them, Asher sat on the ground in shock and sadness out of losing Ryu and the battle.

Shi walked through the snowy forest but then stopped at the sound of snow crunching coming from someone else, or two someone else's. a skeleton standing at 4'2" with the outline of shorts and a hoodie seeming visible. He is entirely black and goopy, with 4 tentacles coming out of his back, his left eye is constantly illuminated in battle blue, and a 5'0" skeleton wearing a darkened blue jacket with a fluffy hood, black turtleneck, shorts with inverted colors, shoes empty eye sockets, with black liquid dripping out, red target like soul, walked up to Shi. Shi grabbed their dagger, and they'd point it towards the two skeletons, Shi: "who are you and what do you want?!", the goopy skeleton spoke, "now now, we don't want to cause any problems here do we, but you seem to be a valuable team member", Shi: "not interested...", they started walking away, then the goopy skeleton wrapped a tentacle around Shi, holding them in the air, "you're not going anywhere, you either agree to join or you'll suffer the consequences", Shi: "fine whatever...". the three of them teleported through the goop, to a castle, "this is your home now, get used to it", the goopy skeleton dropped Shi and walked off, Kai: "you're an idiot", Shi: "well... home sweet home... I guess...".
