Chapter 28: Wedding at the End of the World

Five's POV:

We all headed back to the hotel safely after the whole academy basically got demolished. I was looking at the window and saw Eight on my right also staring deep into thought. She looked tired, I was about to say something until I was interrupted.

"So, how is it that we're still here, but the whole of the universe is going down the cosmic shifter?" Allison asks.
"Maybe we're the last to get flushed." Viktor answered.
"Wasnt talking to you."
Eight softly scoffed rolling her eyes in annoyance.

"Hey, has anyone seen Klaus?" Luther randomly spoke up. Eight quickly turned around.
"Thank you! I wasn't the only one who was wondering. I hope he's okay.." She said worried.
Everyone stayed quiet not knowing where he was .
"Or Dad?" Sloane asked.
"They'll be here." Diego says.
"Really? Did they...hit traffic? Look, people, we're alive because we're special, right? We're the only ones who can save the universe!"
"Uh, question." Allison says
"Yes." Ben responds.
"Didn't we just trust that and fail miserably?"
"Yeah, it's because his plan was stupid." Diego says.
"Mhm."

"I got a better one." Diego says confidently.
"Course you do." Ben mutters.
"We go with the large hard-on particle accelerator. You guys do some science and..." Diego clicks his tongue and imitates hitting a basketball.
"....we launch the Kugelblitz into outer space." He finished. We all gave each other a side eye.
This idiot can't be serious.
"Didn't think I knew that, did ya? It's in Switzerland."
Ben scoffs, "It's hadron, not hard-on, ya moron!"
"Oí! At least he's trying you shitty little squid. What have you contributed?" Lila speaks up.
Eight chuckles and Ben gives her a glare then turns back to Lila.

"Actually! He did blow up half his family." Diego points at Ben.
"Oh, you wanna talk about family problems? You know what should have blown up is your face on that neck!" Ben said getting closer to Diego's face.
All of us seemed interested on what was
going  my to happen next.
"I wish I had a cake to hit you with it in your face!" Diego yells.
"Really Diego? That's the best you can do?" Eight says.
That's when the two started arguing in Korean and Spainsh. Jesus Christ what is happening.

"¡Cállate la boca los dos!" ("Both of you shut the fuck up!") Eight shouts at both of them which made them stop. I completely forgot she knew Spainsh.
"As fun and entertaining as this is, are you two done yet?" She asked them.
"She's right...." I spoke up and then continued.
"...the universe is disappearing outside. So you can keep rearranging the deck chairs of the Titanic if it makes you feel better. But the fact remains that we are too late."

Ben and Diego scoff walking the other direction.
"Five, come on." Luther says.
"It's over, Luther. We failed."
"Come on. It can't be over over." Viktor says.
"Yeah, come on, Five. We gotta figure this out, man." Diego also tells me. I turn and look at Eight to see her giving me this face, which means she agrees with them. I sighed.
"Okay. How about we take a step back? Look at the big picture here. Most of us spent the last 28 days trying to stop the world from ending. What exactly have we accomplished?" I ask. Everyone look at each other for an answer but nobody speaks.
