—CHAPTER FIVE—
Both Akira and Johansson were stucked in that room with their remaining cup noodles, some snacks and four water bottles left. It's been exactly three days since the world went downhill. And it's been days since the last time he heard Johansson's panicked voice when he decided to go out to search for his manager but no vail and ended up coming back to where they are currently staying as of today.
They can still hear it, they can still hear them gargling and snarling from the outside searching for someone to victimized.
The first day of the apocalypse is terrifying enough base on Akira's personal experiences and close encounter with the undead. But she cannot fathom the terror that other people faces from the outside.
They both heard everything from the past nights that always interrupt their sleep. A crying kid, a group of people seeking for help or just a group of individuals who fights for survival.
And ever since the apocalypse occurred? Akira never have the guts to peek through the closed windows, she could say the same too from her companion.
She can't help it but be worried for the guy who is now changed into a gray hoodie and a black sweatpants. The man won't still talk to her despite of her multiple attempts to open a short conversation with the idol. And she often saw him several times stare into complete nothing.
The first time it happened, it was midnight. Akira was disoriented after waking up from her deep slumber. It was the third night of the apocalypse when the bombing resonates from the outside not only once, twice nor thrice but rather multiple times. They can hear people screaming for help, a lot of them. But the screamings eventually died down when the bombing continues.
Curious, Akira silently rose up from her makeshift bed and peek through the small gap of their sole window inside that room. But the moment she peek between the gaps, a blinding lights of red and blue hits her vision.
“What are you doing?!” Johansson whisper yelled at her.
The room is dark and despite not seeing who's talking in front of her, Akira will definitely recognized his voice even if someone will blindfold her.
A sound of fast clicking can be heard inside the room. The electricity went down a few hours ago. And the idol is fast enough to turn off the solar lamp that they found from one of the cabinets.
Sound of sirens filled their ears. Johansson pulled her adamantly into a corner, the farthest one from the window. They could see the combining lights of red and blue from the outside, it seems like the military and other government vehicles are patrolling outside.
Bang!
A gunshot. The sound of the continuous Bang! Bang! Bang! and bombing here and there is still ringing in her ears. She and Johansson are both ducked under a huge table. It was the moment she realized that her companion is already shaking in fear.
“H–hey!” whispered Akira.
“We’ll get through this, okay? Hold on.” she said in a soft tone.
She hugged the man and rubbed his back, the idol is still in the state of shock and shaking out of fear.
“We’ll get through this.”
