A/N:
Moira Edevane is Scottish, and I have done my best to convey her accent in this story. I will be doing the same for the head housemaid at the castle too. So no, the words are not spelt incorrectly, neither have I used the wrong words, I'm just trying to portray their accents. That being said, I am aware I've missed some grammar and even some words in previous chapters, I swear I proofread these things, but I read too quickly and miss it. I'll go back at some point and fix them all.
"Your parents are coming over," Esmé told Minerva, who proceeded to drop the iPad in her hands, jumping.
"Whatever for?"
"What do you think? Pa and Gran are also coming over."
Minerva blinked at her, waiting for her to say she was joking. When Esmé said nothing else, Minerva huffed a sigh and picked the iPad back up. Unlocking it revealed a profile, a picture of Freya in the top left corner. Her team had worked a treat overnight, and now she had a digital file of the woman's life in her hands.
Not that she would stop there. Some things could only be obtained by speaking to people who were in contact with Freya often. The file told Minerva that Freya was a frequent member of Bound, which wasn't surprising to her in the slightest.
What was surprising was that despite all the things the woman had done to other women, she still held an active membership at the club. Of course, Minerva didn't know if the stories were true, not until she spoke to the people who had made the claims herself. She had also sent Alcina a message, asking to meet with her as soon as she was available.
That morning, Mona had reluctantly told her that the relationship she had with Freya was kinky, but that she thought they were in an actual established relationship. She wouldn't go into anything else, saying she was going out with Diana and Theo and would be late if she kept talking.
Which had left Minerva to burn Freya's file into her mind, going over it multiple times.
"You look like you're going to murder someone," Esmé commented, "and it better not be me."
"No," Minerva sighed, "Mona's ex."
"Why do you care so much? This isn't a real relationship."
"Will you stop that?" Minerva snapped, throwing her a filthy look.
"What?"
"For someone who wanted us to get together, you're being a bitch about this whole situation."
"Get together, yes. Date, yes. Marry when you're drunk in Vegas? No. Mona is too fragile, you deserve better, and I don't know whose side I'm supposed to be on."
"Mona's," Minerva replied sharply. "Always Mona's. She barely has anyone, Esmé. As it is she thinks you don't care."
"What? Why?"
"Because all you seemed to care about yesterday morning was how this whole thing was affecting me, not her. She doesn't believe anyone can care about her."
"That's ridiculous," Esmé laughed. "Of course I care about her. So does Theo, Diana, Gran, Pa, even you, I believe."
"Yes, but Mona doesn't believe that. It's so hard for her to see that anyone can care about her, or, dare I say, love her. I think some of that has to do with Freya, but also Iona."
"I didn't know she was seeing anyone," Esmé sighed. "I certainly didn't know she was cruel to Mona."
"I know a little," Minerva replied, "not enough though. Apparently she's a member at Bound."
