I slouch in my seat closing my laptop. "I'm bored wanna go get food?" I look across the table at Megan who sighs looking at me disappointed.

"Blake we've barely even done any work and its due tomorrow."

I frown looking at her unimpressed by her answer. "My brain feels like mush though."

"Ten more minutes." she muttered as I sunk deeper in my seat.

As Megan sits across from me actually writing the essay that's due the beginning of tomorrow's class, my eyes aimlessly wander around the library hoping this 'ten minutes' goes by quickly.

"I wonder how many books just sit on these shelves never being touched once." My eyes scan over the rows of colorful spines trying to pick out the titles that sound the least bit interesting.

"Blake..." Megan looks up from her computer as I interrupt her thoughts once again.

"Sorry." I give her a flat smile scooting my chair out from under me. "I'm gonna go for a stroll. maybe there's a vending machine around." The girl across from me continues to type as I begin walking away. My feet carry me through the rows of books as I swipe my finger along the brim of each one picking up all the leftover dust. Can you believe this is my first time actually stepping foot in the library. If it wasn't for Megan I probably wouldn't even be showing up to school right now.

I know this is the last thing that should be on my mind but I've come to the conclusion that Mrs. Claire is no longer any of my business especially considering our little argument the other day. I was mad at her and I realized I no longer want her negativity in my life. I have more important priorities, for example finding a damn vending machine in this school. I looked up at the rather large, annoyingly ticking clock reading it was quarter passed nine. Why was I still at the school this late, I couldn't tell you either.

My footsteps echoed down the empty hall finding it rather creepy how ghost-town like it actually was in here. I finally came upon a vending machine which of course had the least appealing choices to ever exist and everything was way too expensive for my liking. Can't a girl just get some chocolate around here?

A door slamming shut made the hairs on my neck stand up as heels clicking on the marble floors peeked my attention. I slipped into a crook in the wall hiding in the shadows, which now thinking about it sounds rather creepy. The heels grew louder and eventually the person walking came into view passing right by me.

Of all the people that could have walked passed, why the fuck was she still here? Her last class finished many hours ago which I should know because I attended it.

I watched her walk into her classroom turning on the lights and shutting the door behind her. It was then that I realized which building I was currently in, what are the odds of that happening. I honestly didn't know my way around the rather large school yet and most likely won't remember where the library is, so sorry Megan.

I took a few steps forward allowing me to look into the window of her classroom, she took a seat at her desk as she pulled out a pile of papers to mark. I couldn't help but wonder if the reason she was still at school was because she was avoiding a certain someone in her own household. My chest felt heavy knowing her situation was rather depressing and probably if I was home she would've ended up finding her way to my apartment rather than coming to the school.

I pinch my eyebrows together going over that thought. She wouldn't come anywhere near you, screw your head on straight.

I watch her pull her hair up out of her face showing her rather golden complexion, she closed her eyes rubbing her temples looking tired. I inched closer to the door to get a better view and if she looked up right now she probably would've seen that I was there, but of course the universe has a different story for us and so my staring was cut short by someone else.

"Blake" I whirled around on my toes looking at the dark haired girl who stood across the hall. "Girl I've been looking for you everywhere, how the hell did you end up here." she chuckles slinging her arm around my shoulder leading me out of the building, internally I thanked her for showing up when she did before I put myself back in Evelyn Claire's life.

Megan dropped me off at my place telling me to finish my project asap before speeding off.

I take a large gulp of the fruity rich drink in my hand as I stare blankly at my screen. A notification on my phone breaks my stare as I set my glass of wine down and read the message.

Megan: Have you finished your paper yet?

"No" I think to myself as I toss my phone on the couch cushion without responding back.

It's funny the way life works.

The teacher grading said paper which I have yet to write a single word about is probably in her apartment down the hall most likely willing to help me write this paper if I went over and brought it to her attention. However, my body physically won't allow myself to give in that easily because I've already called it quits on us, even though nothing ever did start between us.

We were in a fight and no way in hell was I letting her win the first point. If that means sitting on this damn couch all evening until I finally write something then so be it.
