EVELYN
She's my student.She's my student.
She's my student.
That's what was running through my head all morning. I had spent Saturday night chatting away at her place and now I didn't know how to act. Can you believe I went over there on Sunday as well looking like a fool knocking on her door last night. Thankfully she wasn't home which then gave me a reality check that she was much younger than me, I'm her professor at the University she attends and I'm married. I laugh to myself finding it odd that I don't list my marriage as one of the first issues about our situation. Talk about multiple red flags.
After realizing she wasn't home I spent the rest of my day ignoring her. I didn't leave my house and I hid in my bedroom all evening with the door locked. What kind of grown woman does that?
It was currently Monday morning and I had to teach my Law and Society class in less than 2 minutes. Did I mention that was also the class she attended.
I rounded the corner bumping into someone as all my files flew out of my hands. See what I mean I'm a frazzled mess. "I'm so sorry that was completely my fault." I blurt out bending down to pick up all my pages.
"A bit clumsy today are we?" My breath hitched as I quickly looked up to see the girl hovering over me.
"Blake of course it's you."
"I'm getting some déjà vu from the first time we met."
"Funny." A smile tugs at my lips as I go to collect all my scattered papers.
"Let me help." She bent down helping me and I couldn't help but notice how close her face was to mine, my eyes quickly flickering to her cherry plump lips. She handed me the pages checking the time as I noticed we were both five minutes late to class. Fuck.
"I'll finish cleaning up the mess you can head to class. Your presence is much more important than mine."
"Are you sure?" I asked hesitantly.
"Yes" she chuckled. "Go."
I quickly walked to my lecture room taking a deep breath before apologizing to the class for being late. About five minutes of my introduction lesson went by before the door opened again. I guess we hadn't really thought this plan through because Blake walked in looking like a deer in the headlights as she stood near the front holding all of my files. Her cheeks formed a tinge of red so I quickly came to her rescue. I've noticed that as much as the girl comes off as extroverted and confident she also likes to cower away from larger crowds.
She gave me a quick smile before walking to the nearest seat. I placed the files on my desk before continuing to talk. My eyes glanced over at the brunette who was currently chewing her lip and fiddling with her pen seeming to be in her own world today. What's got her so distracted today?
BLAKE
I hate people. Hate them. My heart was beating a mile a minute a few seconds ago when I stood in front of the class with all eyes on me. Even though I knew nobody was paying attention to me I also couldn't help but feel anxious and paranoid someone was constantly judging my every move. My leg bounced up and down repetitively as I couldn't concentrate on todays lecture like I usually can. My mind racing with thoughts of this past weekends events and how I could've sworn she had been acting weird around me earlier. She's been so jumpy recently. Her actions are making me really on edge. I had started my new job at the bar just yesterday having been doing training all of Sunday evening. I was tired this morning from staying up so late working but I didn't regret getting the job knowing it helped pass the time.
