Chapter IX

At "Alejandro" base (im so funny)

Alejandro, Shera, Soap, and Ghost rode together in a jeep until they were stopped at the entrance of the base. The four would get out to see the problem.

"What's this"

"This is the immediate future. Step away from the gate"

"What?"

"You heard me."

"You're crazy, this is my base."

"It's not a base. This is a sizeable convert facility and I admire it- so I'm taking it. You boys have been Relieved. Thank you for your service."

"No, no, no, I don't take orders from you."

"Didn't Valeria say that? Now that makes me wonder what else I don't know about your affiliation with the drug lord"?

"What the fuck did you just say to me, pendejo..." Alejandro walks up to Graves but is stopped by Soap.

"You're out of line, Graves."

"Don't do that. Don't... do that. No one needs to get hurt here"

"Are you threatening us?"

"Soldier, I don't make threats. I make a guarantee, so let's not do this."

"You can't take his base like that," Shera says.

"You have been doing the same thing with countries, since 2019" Graves barked back.

"Well, I'm not a fucking snake about it" Shera responded.

"I'm calling Shepherd."

General Shepherd sends his regards."

Shera gasped, everything clicking in her mind. She already knew that Shepherd made illegal dealings, but she knew why this happened. Shepherd and Graves were doing something with the missile when Konni stole the missile, they were all getting too close to the truth when Shepherd had to bury them with the help of his lapdog, Graves. She regrets the fact her gut was right, and she pushed that thought away.

"He told me y'all wouldn't take this well."

"He knows about this?"

"He's put me in command of this operation from here on out. So y'all need to stand down. It's time to let the pros finish this."

"And why the hell are we talking like this is some kind of a negotiation? It's not. I've got my orders and now you have yours."

"If I'm right, as an Empress regnant, I'm more powerful than anyone here. More importantly, more powerful than Shepherd. Any order he gives you or us, I can deny them, can't I?" Shera says. (smart readers will understand that earlier in the story, graves said something to her, that is very similar)

"Your little logic isn't going to work here, kid."

"And who the fuck you think you are, carbon... My men are inside!"

"I'm afraid not. Your men have been...

Detained."

Alejandro flings himself at Graves, the latter throws him to the jeep. One of his shadows captures him and ties him up (not in a sexual way, you little fucks)

"Graves, what the fuck?!" Graves points his gun at Soap, Shadows next to him start shooting at Soap and Shera. Soap captures a shadow, while Ghost takes his knife and kills two shadows. Alejandro tries to fight back but is knocked out. Soap kills one shadow with his gun but is shot in the shoulder, While Shera, wounds a few shadows before making a run for it, Graves shoots her in the back and she falls down the hill, hitting her head on a tree.
