Chapter X

"I'm in the coffee shop"

"Get us a tea"

"Fucking Brits"

"You continue to say us like we want it" Shera says

"You're gonna owe me for this"

"Why?"

"We're fixing each other's problems"

"What's my problem?"

"The mask... take it off"

"Show my face?

"Yes, sir"

"Negative"

"Are you ugly?"

"Quite the opposite" Shera chucked at his response

"I doubt that. Seek and ye shall find"

Soap looks through the cafe.

"Ghost?"

"Soap"

"Guess what I found?"

"More stopping power?"

"Check"

"Your life expectancy just went way up"

"What's "way up" in your opinion, because it doesn't seem like much time," shera says. As Soap jumps down, a few shadows catch him.

"Johnny... town's full o' tunnels"

"Stand by..."

A little bit later

"Found some oil"

"Oil, bottle, and some for a wick. Time for a cocktail"

Soap goes into the tunnel.

"Ghost"

"Talk to me, johnny"

"I found the tunnel"

"The church plaza is on the other end of the tunnel"

"Push through, you're nearly here."

"Ghost, I got Shadows wearing body armor"

"You'll have to get in close and find the gaps"

Soap makes it through the tunnel.

"You got eyes on the church?"

"Aye"

"Good, you're on the right track. Keep comin'."

"Ghost, areas blocked off"
"Try and cut through the shops"
"Think I found a way through, Lt"
"Shadows are everywhere"
"Because we're on the loose" Shera says.

"We'll hold em' off until we RV in front of the church and secure a vehicle for exfil"

"Roger that"

"Give 'em hell, Johnny- we're almost there."

Soap opens the door, but is knocked down but a shadow

"Fuck-!"

The two hear over the comm and spring into attack. Before the shadow can kill Soap, Ghost shoots him.

"Holy hell... Ghost- was that you?"

"Who else...? Now go"

"Ghost, how copy?"

"Johnny got company in the church, and they're not here for forgiveness! Get to the steps, I'll be there"

"Copy, Lt."

Soap runs to the step while Shera and Ghost fight off the Shadows.

"Ghost! Shr!"

"Soap!"

"Soap! Thank god you alive" Shera says. Ghost jumps over the fence while shera does the same. The three run down the steps.

"We need a vehicle, on me-!"

"Stay sharp, they know we're here and they know it's us. They'll send more."

"Contact-! Dead ahead!"

"I see 'em" They shoot them down, and Shera does it with perfect precision.

"God damn" soaps says noticing her perfect marksmanship.

"You didn't know?" Shera adds

"You hiding these skills"

"I'm not hiding, you didn't ask"

"Watch the ally!"

"You two, stay close. Heads up for a vehicle we can take." they keep walking through shooting and killing any shadow they see

"Soap, shera, pickup truck ahead. Lights on"

"That's our exfil. Get to it!" the two run to the truck.

"I'll drive, Johnny- take shotgun!"

"I'll take back," shera says, jumping onto the back of the truck."

"Alright, Johnny- you made it..."

"We made it, Lt" A few shadows shoot at them, and Soap and Shera fight them off.

"Hold fast...!"

"That's one way o' doin' it. Get back!" Soap shoots another shadow.

"Thanks"

"Hate to interrupt your bonding moment, but ghost can you drive? We'll hold off on" Ghost drive to a location.
