Fairytale

Authors Note: This is final chapter, with a peek at the next story I'm working on.

   Mr. Daniels was so nervous to hold Zi, he had to sit down first. He had cooed and grinned at his new Granddaughter for several minutes, before sighing and telling the Professor other family members were waiting to greet her.

   Y is sitting up in bed, told to rest for an hour or so before trying to get out of bed. He's watching a live video call, as the Professor enters the waiting room holding Zi in the crook of his left arm. Izzy gasps, the first to notice to the new arrivals.

"Oh my goodness. She's here." Izzy says, standing to cross to the Professor and the baby. She notices Mary holding the Professor's phone up and she smiles. "Y, she's beautiful sweetheart. How are you doing kid?"

"I'm okay. Resting a bit before I'm allowed to use the bathroom and get some exercise." Y smiles, seeing everyone come forward slowly to get a look at the baby. "Isn't she, just perfect?" He says, a smile on his lips and tears in his eyes.

"She is. Oh wow, she's so tiny!" Jessie exclaims, the baby fussing at her raised voice. "Oh, shhh. Sorry sweet girl. I'm, your Godmother." She blinks, the Professor gently placing the baby into her arms. "Oh." Her voice is a whisper and she trembles, kissing the babies forehead. She grins at Lee, looking on in astonishment. "Lee, look at our Goddaughter. You should hold her next." She says, Zi stretching and fussing slightly.

"Oh, okay." Lee takes the baby, tears slipping from his cheeks. He and Danny could have this, one day. "Hi there beautiful." He says, crying and smiling up at Danny as the baby quiets in his arms.

"Ah, I bet she can recognize your voice Lee." Y says, smiling at the love his daughter is already receiving. "We spent quite a bit of time together during my last trimester. You helped me with my blog."

"Mn, you really think, she can recognize my voice?" Lee asks, Mary stepping closer.

"My little beauty is very smart." Y says, Zi turning her head toward his voice. "Hey Princess, you hear Daddy? I'll see you soon sweetie. Dad will bring you back for cuddles soon." He croons, smiling at the baby blinking at the phone.

   Everyone had a chance to hold Zi and now the Professor is taking her back to an anxious Y. Mary and Mr. Daniels follow, bringing gifts from the extended café family. Y reaches out his arms for his daughter and kisses her little cheeks, the Professor sitting beside him on the bed.

"So, they brought flowers for Daddy, stuffed animals for Zi, and..." Professor X takes a pastry box from Mr. Daniels. "... Zi cupcakes for us to try. You should probably eat something healthier first, but I won't tell if you don't." He winks at his husband, Y licking his lips at the cupcakes.

"Shhh, it'll be our secret." Y laughs, the Professor holding up a cupcake for him to bite. "Ohhhh, so good." He licks icing from his lips and sees his parents arranging flowers and stuffed animals in the corner. "Mom, you look exhausted. I'm sorry. You were just heading home when little Miss decided to make her grand entrance." He says, his parents cuddling close together.

"I'm fine. I wouldn't have missed this for the world." Mary smiles warmly at her son and his little family.

"Mn, thank you both, for being here." Y yawns, laying back in the bed. He smiles, his eyes drooping. "Dad? Taker her home. I think, we'll take our first family nap together."

"Alright son." Mr. Daniels says smiling. He approaches the bed and drops a kiss onto Y's forehead, then Zi's. "You boys, call us if you need anything."

"We love you." Mary kisses Y's cheek, then Zi's, and finally she pecks a kiss on the Professor's cheek. "Take good care of them, son." She whispers into the Professor's ear and he nods.
