Authors Note: I'm contemplating naming all future pairings Sean and Bo... I don't use their real names, but I feel like their nicknames are ok? Any thoughts?
After showering and having breakfast together, the couple are now driving to work together. Y had a bit of morning sickness earlier, having forgotten to take his pill, but he's feeling better now. He grins as the Professor pulls the car up to the café, taking his hand and kissing it.
"Remember, it might rain later, so just wait for me inside after your shift." Professor X says, frowning at the leather jacket Y is wearing. "This weekend, will buy you a liner for this damn jacket you love so much and a scarf too." He kisses Y's cheek, smiling at the younger man's exasperated eye roll.
"Babe, leather and scarves? I'm trying to be cool here." Y grabs the back of the Professor's head and pulls him close, kissing him deeply. "Mm, but if makes you feel better, I'll compromise. Gotta be a black scarf. I mean, I've got this cool omega image to uphold." He smirks, the Professor laughing softly and nodding. "I'll see you later, love you."
"Love you too baby and don't skip lunch! Smoothies don't count!" Professor X calls, Y exiting the car and nodding. "Ugh, damn. Those jeans should be illegal." He mumbles, licking his lips and watching Y walk into the café. "Shit! I need to hurry."
"Good morning!" Izzy beams, Y stepping behind the counter and wondering where to stow his jacket. She leans close, fixing a cappuccino and whispering. "There's a coat rack in the corner of the kitchen kid. Although you might smell like cakes later."
"Fine by me." Y grins, passing her and nodding a greeting to the middle aged female customer staring at him. "I'm going to see if I can help Jes."
"Mn, thank you!" Izzy says, turning back the customer and bristling at the way she's watching Y. "Can I get you anything else, Ma'am?"
"Hey Jes. How's it going this morning?" Y asks, tying his apron around his waist.
"Uhm, good actually." Jessie tilts her head, giving him a questioning look. "What did you say to Lee? He's never offered to help me before. He was a big help last night." She smiles, a genuine smile that makes Y realize, she's quite beautiful.
"Just how I felt bad that you're here from open to close, all alone." Y shrugs, fidgeting a bit as she shakes her head. "When I told him I was going to help out an hour before my shifts, he said he felt bad that he'd never thought of it. He decided, studies or not, he can give you an hour after. It's not much and we don't know what the hell we're doing, pardon the language. But, that's two hours of help four days a week. Gotta be better than nothing, right?"
"Mn, exactly. Oh, can you grab the cookies from the oven?" Jessie asks, a timer going off as she ices a cake. Y dons oven mitts and opens the oven, groaning softly. "So, what did you think of the cookies and cupcakes last night?" She asks, noticing he pauses, blushing and grinning. "I don't want to how you enjoyed them, just if you enjoyed them." She giggles, Y coughing and bringing over two large cookie sheets to place on a cooling rack.
"The cookies, to die for!" Y says, tossing his head back dramatically. "Seriously, so good and they practically scream autumn flavors." He bites his lip, thinking about the cupcakes. "The cupcakes, how did you even come up with that? Cinnamon cupcakes with apple filling? And the buttercream icing, cinnamon and caramel? It's like a candied apple. I was wondering..."
"Go ahead, I'm open to suggestions." Jessie says, slicing the cake before her into generous portions.
"I think we should run a special. The cookies and hot cocoa." Y says, Jessie raising her brows in surprise. "Oh my gosh, they melt in your mouth when dunked!" He grins, Jessie giggling beside him. "And, I know the icing might not hold, but I think... if we could warm the cupcakes? That gooey apple filling nice and warm. A whole other level!"
