AN: This is a mini chapter taking place before Shockwave and the crew go after Doll during the "Home" chapter. I'm posting this because 1, It's been on my mind lately and 2, consider this a little treat from me. Enjoy.

"Alright, now that V has been calmed down, we need to figure out where Doll is headed and what she plans on doing with that robo-roach." Uzi told the group after V's chainsaw outburst against the purple eyed drone. Brawl, grumbled at this.
"Easier said than done; from what V told me, that red eyed drone can literally teleport. She could be anywhere on Copper-9 and looking for her would be like a servo in a scrapyard." the Combatidrone commented with his arms crossed as he leaned against Uzi's bedroom wall.
"Not necessarily, Brawl, for I have anticipated this scenario. While Doll did used her ability to teleport to travel to who knows where, she is unaware of the little mod me and Uzi came up with after the incident with the Sinnertwin. Thanks to it, Doll is practically exposed to us, giving us her precise coordinates." Shockwave replied, Brawl uncrossing his arms in confusion.
"You- wha- you- you- you lost me."
"What Shocks is saying that he knew this would happen eventually so he asked me to help him make a tracking device and put it on that robo-roach so it could tell us where it was taken when it got stolen." Uzi explained in a simpler term.
"A security measure... smart." V commented with her arms crossed.
"So where is Doll heading now?" J questioned before Shockwave pulled out a handheld monitor from his subspace and activated it. Shockwave looked over the device for a moment before looking back at the group.
"A familiar sight."
The scientist handed it to J, the female disassembly drone looking at its screen, the others joining her. Except from Brawl, their eyes widened.
"The camp?" N thought aloud, Shockwave nodding his helm in response.
"Yeah.. come to think of it, I found that roach during my search there. Whatever Doll wants, it must be close to where I found this bug thing." Uzi mentioned.
"Alright, so we have a lead. Let us head out and catch up to Doll." Shockwave concluded, the group nodding in acknowledgement before they began to leave Uzi's home before, someone else spoke to Shockwave.
"Wait a minute, Shockwave, is it? May I have a word with you?"
Shockwave and the others turn their heads and helm to an adult male worker drone with white eyes, a moustache, red goggles on his helmet and a winter camo coat.
"Dad?" Uzi questioned in surprise to ask that of Shockwave. Curiously, the scientist in question turned to face Khan, Uzi's father, though just as surprised as the purple eyed worker was. It was common knowledge among the team that Shockwave despises Khan for leaving Uzi, his own mesh and oil, to die and because of that, the scientist didn't hold any form of respect for the guy and, from what Uzi told him, Khan knows that.
What could possibly posses him to have a word with Shockwave?
"Mr Doorman, you wish to speak with me?" the Decepticon disassembly drone questioned, the adult worker nodding his head.
"Yes. I need to have this talk with you. Alone."
Shockwave then turns to his team and gestures them to go on ahead with out him. They understood his wish and left, leaving Shockwave and Khan alone.
"Now then, what could you be so compelled to have the audacity to speak to me after that stunt you pulled with Uzi?" the scientist demanded with his arms crossed.
"Look, I know you hate me for that but that's not what I want to talk about. It's about Uzi." Khan admitted to the scientist who kept his gaze on the male worker.
"Explain."
"All my life I tried to raise Uzi to be a normal girl who is into doors and not all that scary rebellion nonsense she kept rambling on about. I only wanted her to fit in, not be some outcast of the colony. I focused all my hard work on making her into what I wanted, I completely ignored what she needed."
Khan took a deep breath and looked back at the scientist.
"But you? You never cared about her personality or her attitude, you just only wanted what was best for her and your not even the same species of drone as her. Hell, you weren't even A drone to begin with, actually being an intergalactic alien robot war veteran who got turned into a murder drone and all that."
Shockwave's optic flashed in shock when Khan mentioned of the scientist's origin.
"How long have you known?"
"When you confiscate your daughter's crazy ramblings, you tend to find something somewhat interesting. Look, what I'm trying to say is that Uzi looks up to you in a way she never has with me. She sees you as the father she never had, the one that she always needed."
"...Excuse me..?"
"You protected her from everything dangerous and all I've done was leaving her for dead. Everyone at the colony thought of Uzi as a failure but it turns out, I was the real failure for not being there for her when she needed me."
Khan then gently patted Shockwave on the shoulder.
"So please, promise that you'll continue protecting Uzi and be the father she deserves. Promise not for me, but for my daughter. For OUR daughter."
Shockwave stood there in a deafening silence for a small while until he gave Khan his answer.
"I will, Mr Doorman, for Uzi's sake."
Khan grew a small smile at the response as he watched Shockwave turn to the front door and started leaving.
"Thank you. And please, call me Khan."
Shockwave stopped and looked back at the adult worker with a nod.
"Very well... Khan." Shockwave replied before he left the Doorman residence to join up with the other drones and go after Doll.
