Chapter One: Weird World

Bright lights. Bright colors filled my vision quickly as I woke up, which was jarring me back to reality.

"Caine, is this another new character? Why has this been happening recently?" A voice groaned. I looked around in confusion. Eyes were looking at me in unison.

My glances were on each of them. First was a guy with teeth for a head and he was wearing a suit. The eyes were of two different colors, and were inside of the mouth--that was in placement for his head. He gave me weird vibes.

Next was a clown-looking girl with peppermint spiral-looking eyes, and white skin. She had short brown hair, and seemed to look at me with a hint of empathy. Her jester costume was red and blue stripes, with pompoms on her torso in a neat vertical line. She also had white gloves, and jester-looking shoes.

Your eyes then looked at a girl with red raggedy hair, had a button eye on one side, and an oval-shaped eye on the other. She has a periwinkle dress, that seemed to flow seamlessly with each step. She smiled reassuringly in my direction, knowing that this was probably a weird situation for me to be in.

The next one caught my attention in a weird way. Her head was a simple triangle and her body was a bunch of different geometric shapes. One claw, and the other one was a bit normal, but had some roundness to it. Her eyes were different sizes. One was clearly bigger than the other one. She had different types of antennas too. One was a blue zig-zag, and another one is in a "Y" shape with a black and white pattern.

Another one seemed to look sad while staring at a mask on the ground that seemingly shattered. Their body was basically red ribbon, and their mask at the given moment was crying. Blue tears were leaping off of the solemn eyes, and she seemed to be frowning. I felt bad for what she's probably going through right now, but I digress.

The next one my attention was towards was somebody who reminded me of a King chess piece. With a royal pink robe, his eyes were asymmetrical. He seemed to be the crazy one out of the bunch, with his eyes looking side-to-side in a paranoid fashion.

Lastly, this was the one that caught my attention the most, a purple rabbit with a wide grin. He had overalls, and his arms were crossed while looking at me intensely. It was kinda intimidating. His eyes were also black pupils with yellow surrounding it.

"My, my!" The teeth guy yelled out. "Looks like another human has entered this realm! Nice to meet you, my name is Caine! And welcome to the digital circus!!"

His voice sounded like a showman, and was obnoxiously loud. I flinched a bit at the sudden loudness his voice expressed.

"Jeez, is she mute or something?" The purple rabbit huffed.

"Jax, don't be mean," The doll-like character sighed. "She might just be scared of being teleported to a new world. Pomni's been through this too pretty recently. Everybody has a different reaction to showing up here."

"You are correct, Ragatha!" Caine exclaimed. "She just might be scared, so give her some time!! While we're at it, let me give you a tour of the place!"

Without hesitation, Caine grabbed my hand and pulled me out of the campgrounds we were on.

"This is the grounds," He yelled out as he pointed to the tent we left. While he was explaining the pool area, or amusement park, my mind was racing back and fourth. But he dragged me back into the tent eventually. "Now that you're acquainted with the digital circus, we should figure out your name, shouldn't we?"

I nodded wordlessly, unknowing how to respond. I was worried that I was probably too quiet for their liking, and it made me anxious.

"Perfect!"

Caine brought out a name generator and spun it. It landed on D-a-p-h-n-e.

"What about Daphne? Is that a good name?"

"Sure..." I muttered.

"Wow. She finally said something. And here I thought she was mute," Jax chuckled.

"Well, maybe she's just shy," Zooble sighed.

"I-I wouldn't blame her..." Gangle muttered.

"Well, quiet is good too!" Caine exclaimed. "Everybody is welcome here!"

"Yes, buut if she's quiet all the time, it's simply boring," Jax huffed.

"That's n-not necessarily true," Pomni stated.

"Oh shut up, joker," Jax snapped. Pomni flinched at his harsh words.

"We should make Daphne more comfortable here with a great digital feast!" Caine said, clearly excited. Parts of my mind were drifting away from this new "reality." Why was I here in the first place? What did I do to deserve this inevitable fate?

Hey guys! I hope you're enjoying the book so far. Sorry if this chapter was kinda bland, it was mainly filled with introductions and all of that boring stuff. If you have an idea for the next chapter, like what should happen and stuff, let me know! Or if you're enjoying the book so far. Since usually words of encouragement help me write each chapter faster. Though, writers block wouldn't be helpful (since I do get that often). Regardless, I hope this first chapter was somewhat okay! While for the readers name "Daphne," sorry if you don't like it! If you don't, then place the name "Daphne" with your name. I also used a name generator for that name, fun fact! Since I wanted it as random as possible, like how TADC names are! If it wasn't Daphne, it would've been "Lux." Regardless of all of those factors, please tell me what to improve!
