Jax grabbed my hand and tugged me along to the other areas of the circus.
"This area is easy once you get a hand of everything," Jax explained.
"Are you sure?"
"Ohh positive! Don't worry about thaaat."
Jax gave me a weird look and I avoided eye contact.
"But what if I should?"
"Don't be! You'll be fine!" There was a hint of sarcasm in his voice, but I tried to ignore it. "Next, we'll visit the water park area outside. I rarely visit there, buuut I find it kinda fun to watch people partially drown."
Jax looked at me while speaking, which gave me chills down my spine.
"Come on! Walk quicker," He ordered as he grabbed my hand and tugged me outside. In front of me were huge water slides, and a big pool that expanded for a few yards. It was quite impressive. Each slide was a separate vibrant color, and the water was a sickly blue.
"Whoa," I gasped. Jax chuckled.
"Impressive, isn't it?"
I stood at the edge of the pool, looking at myself in the reflection. I had rainbow hair, each color was a different strand, and the texture looked like a rope which was tied into neat pigtails. I had red ribbons that were keeping my hair in those pigtails, and a silver crown on the top of my head. My dress consisted of a dress that reminded me of a maid's dress, except with the colors red and orange, instead of black and white. The sleeves were like ruffles, and my eyes had vibrant green pupils. I wasn't this fond of my so-called "look," but I didn't really hate it either.
While looking at myself in the water, a hand shoved my back and I fell head first in the freezing water. The water was cold, and my whole vision was blue. A voice was laughing from above, presumably Jax. I didn't know whether I was swimming or drowning, so my heart was racing. Or...my digital heart was racing.
I flailed my hands aimlessly in the water, hoping that my body will float to the top. I couldn't breathe. It's not like I needed to, since I was in a digital circus, but I was still freaking out.
Suddenly a hand grabbed my flailing hand and dragged me up to the top. I was plopped onto the ground and was wheezing.
"God, your reaction was priceless! You do realize you can't drown here, right?" Jax asked, looking pleased as ever. He was still laughing a bit, probably at the fact that I don't know how to swim.
"I...I mean..." My voice came out in gasps as I was catching air, regardless of the fact I didn't need to breathe, it was the illusion of breathing that made me feel comfortable.
"Just talk, quiet kid. We don't have all day."
"Why did you shove me?" I finally blurted out.
"I thought it'd be funny seeing you struggle. And I was so right! It was sooo worth it, doll face."
"You're awful."
"Why, thank you! I've been called that all the time. You have to get used to it in this digital circus, Daphne."
"Y-Yeah, whatever," I sighed as I finally stood up. I shook my head, getting the excess water off of my head. Luckily I dried off pretty quickly, since everything here is digital.
"Let's continue the tour! We still need to see the carnival!"
Jax chuckled as he grabbed my hand and dragged me to the carnival that was next to the circus tent. I sighed, knowing I had no choice but to go along with Jax's crap and his toying around.
~~~
Sorry if this chapter was a bit lackluster or odd, I did my best! I also hope you like the look I gave Daphne, and if you don't, you can always change it. Also I tried getting Jax's personality more on point, since I'm aware he is technically the Digital Circus bully/jerk here, so I did try my best to get his personality more spot-on. I do hope you liked this chapter though, even if they were only at the water park in this chapter. Next chapter is the carnival, which I hope will be more fun to read!! I hope you guys have a wonderful rest of your day <3
