We were walking to the next ride, while I was trying to ignore the feeling that has been eating me for a while now. I glanced at Jax's face, and he seemed to be grinning while we locked eye contact. I looked ahead of me right away, pretending to not feel a bit flustered. I'm not going to ignore that I didn't hear his "cute" comment, but I'm deciding to not mention it.
The next ride Jax decided to show me was some sort of roller coaster. It had a ton of loops and seemed to be extremely scary. Jax grinned at y sudden pause.
"What? Are you afraid?" He asked, while zooming into my face and personal bubble.
"N-No. I'm not," I lied. "I can handle a bit of loops."
"Perfect!" He exclaimed. He walked swiftly to the front of the cart. I shyly slipped into the spot next to him. I buckled myself into the seat, but it seemed like Jax decided against the buckle to keep him in the cart. "Are you really that afraid of falling out?"
"No, I just like staying safe," I tell him. He laughs.
"Are you kidding me? We're in a video game! There's no physics."
I raise an eyebrow and stare at him intently. He simply smiles. "Trust me."
"Fine," I grumbled as I unbuckled myself.
"Perfect! Let's start, shall we??"
Soon the cart we were in started moving. I was worried about falling out, but I tried trusting Jax with this one...maybe I am being overdramatic.
The cart soon picked up its pace. My back seemed to be glued to the side of the cart, because of how fast this ride seemed to be going. Jax--on the other hand--seemed to be having the time of his life.
He was smiling--seemed kinda genuine--and his hand was resting on the armrest of the coaster. He didn't really seem to be paying attention to my glances, so I looked in front of me, where the first loop took place. I closed my eyes, praying that I wouldn't fall out. Surprisingly I didn't. Jax was right--for once.
After the ride was over, Jax chuckled. "See? It wasn't that bad!"
"I guess you're right..." I sheepishly admitted. Jax looked a bit surprised by my statement, but played it off with a grin.
"Of course I'm right," Jax laughed. "I guess that's enough rides for now. The others might get 'worried' eventually."
"Okay..."
I followed Jax as we left the carnival and went back inside the circus tent. I was afraid to go back in there, since this tent is huge and there's too many sharp colors.
Ragatha walks up to us once we walked inside.
"You didn't scare Daphne, did you Jax?" Ragatha asked.
"Of course not! Right, Daph?" Jax chuckled. Ragatha looks at Jax weirdly, probably contemplating the sudden nickname.
"I mean--uh--yeah," I muttered. Ragatha looks relieved.
She then whispered, "if Jax gives you a hard time, just come to me."
I nod as Ragatha gives me a reassuring smile as she walks away.
"I'm going to go to my room for a bit..." I murmured.
"Fine, fine," Jax sighed. "See you around, drama queen."
I nodded as I walked to my room, and closed the door softly behind me.

I liked how this chapter turned out, though there are some things I'm not that happy with. Descriptive words are hard when it comes to facial expressions and the actions each character is doing, but I tried my best, and that's all that (hopefully) matters! I hope you like this chapter, and I also hope you have a wonderful rest of your day <3
