Chapter 16. Trapped.

Jungkook strolled down the dimly lit corridor, his eyes widening as he caught sight of Jimin standing outside his own room. The pastel lavender gown he wore draped elegantly over his figure, making him appear like a blooming flower. Jungkook's steps quickened as he approached the omega, a smile forming on his thin lips.

"Jimin!" he called out, the excitement evident in his voice. Yet, as he neared, he noticed a sudden shift in the omega's demeanor. Jimin's eyes met his, and without a word, Jimin altered his path, avoiding any chance of their encounter. Confusion etched on Jungkook's face as he tried to comprehend the omega abrupt avoidance.

"Jimin, wait!" Jungkook called again, his footsteps echoing through the corridor. He quickened his pace, attempting to close the distance between them, but Jimin remained determined to keep his distance.

Their paths continued to cross in various situations – in the vibrant gardens where Jimin sat surrounded by colorful flowers, or in the solemn atmosphere of the goddess luna temple, where he prayed, and even at the shared dining table where they took their meals. Each time, Jungkook attempted to approach him, only to be met with Jimin's deliberate avoidance.

Frustration began to bubble within him. He couldn't fathom why Jimin was avoiding him so vehemently, especially after the moments they had shared. Determined not to let the distance grow, Jungkook persisted in trying to catch him alone, to understand the reason behind the omega's sudden change in behavior.

Days passed, and Jungkook's attempts remained futile. The more he tried, the more elusive Jimin became. It wasn't long before he began to notice another peculiar change—Jae's behavior towards Jimin.

Observing from a distance, Jungkook couldn't help but notice the increased physical affection initiated by Jae for Jimin. The alpha's touch became more intimate, and kisses were exchanged with a possessiveness and force that raised an uneasy feeling in Jungkook's chest. It was evident that Jae was exerting control over Jimin, and the subtle signs of discomfort in the omega's eyes did not escape Jungkook's notice.

Determined to break through the barriers, Jungkook decided to confront Jimin during a moment of respite. Finding the omega in the garden again, surrounded by the very flowers the omega seemed to find solace in, he approached with a mix of concern and determination.

"Jimin," he said softly, not wanting to startle the omega. Jimin looked up, his eyes flickering with a mix of surprise and apprehension.

"Why are you avoiding me?" Jungkook asked.

Jimin hesitated, glancing around as if checking for prying eyes. "I can't, Jungkook. It's not safe." Jimin replied almost instantly.

"Safe?" Jungkook questioned, confusion etched across his features. "What do you mean? We've spent time together before."

A shadow passed over Jimin's face, a mixture of sadness and fear. "Things have changed. I can't be seen with you, especially by Jae. He's become... possessive." Jimin mumbled the last word under his breath, but Jungkook still heard it.

Jungkook's eyes narrowed, a protective instinct kicking in. "Jimin, you don't deserve to be treated like that. You deserve freedom, not control." The alpha said with a gritted teeth.

Jimin sighed, a hint of acceptance in his eyes was visible. "It's complicated, Jungkook. I can't just break away. Jae is influential, and I don't have much choice."

Jungkook clenched his fists, struggling to contain his frustration. "You have a choice, Jimin. No one should control you like this. I care about you, and I won't stand by watching you suffer."

As they spoke, Jae appeared in the distance, his eyes narrowing as he noticed Jungkook and Jimin in conversation. Sensing the impending tension, Jimin whispered, "Please, Jungkook, be careful."
