The ground is shaking, and I'm tilting. Or am I turning? Why would I be turning when I'm flat on the bed?
A sharp pain hits my butt, my eyes open. It's morning. Not a good one though when you have to wake up to blue cold eyes glaring daggers at you without even flinching.
"Wake up, the sun has risen,'' he throws a pillow in my face.
Shoving it off, I argued back, "What do you want me to do? Photosynthesise?"
He shuts the door of the bathroom. Seconds later, the shower runs. I rub my eyes and make my way to the kitchen where I know filling my stomach before talking is the only thing keeping me sane early in the morning.
After pouring milk in my cereal, I give Chief his share of food as well. I check the time. It's clearly 7am. Too early for my liking. Today is the first day of college and I'm already shit pissed. I wish those showers would freeze his balls.
"Listen lady,'' I look up to Roman, in a white shirt and loose jeans, his hair wet from the shower. "If you're going to live with me, get rid of the dog".
"I should've let him rip your couch to pieces,'' I mutter, stabbing my cereal with my spoon.
"What was that?"
"Nothing". I tap my foot once sending Chief growling menacingly at Roman. He jumps onto the couch, one leg swinging at the husky. I almost spit out my cereal, the milk already dripping from my mouth.
"Lady, I'm warning you!" he screams. Chief bares his teeth at him. "It's not funny".
"I'm not a lady,'' I scoff. "Call me by name then I'll release you".
"The fuck should I know?" he yells, but his gaze lingers on my chest.
"Suit yourself. I'm gonna go take a shower". I finish up my breakfast, wash my dishes and head up to the bathroom. Chief barks loudly at him.
"Fucking hell, fine. Make him stop, Azalea,'' he says with a cold tone.
I turned to him. Was he really born cold like this? Does he even have a heart? Meh, guess I'll never find out.
"Chief, here boy". Like a good dog, Chief follows me to the bathroom. He needs a bath as well. I know just the shampoo to use. I peek out, opening the door a little so I could see if he's still there. When I see no one on sight, I creep out to his bathroom. Picking a specific shampoo, I sneak back out. Now, I'll have a great day.

College has always been what I've looked forward to since forever. I've watched countless college movies, read countless college romances. I know the basics. But I'm not taking AP classes like I've always been dreaming of because apparently 'golden boy' took my place as valedictorian.
But with my art scholarship, I got in just fine. I hugged my jacket tighter. New York is really not climate-favourable. For my taste. I'm in clad jeans, combat boots, a black t-shirt with my regular jacket. I switched my glasses for contact lenses since the incident last year.
I'm kinda grateful my apartment is a few minutes walk to university so no biggie in sweating. I reach the very building where I know my classes start. Opening the double doors, I'm met with peculiar gazes. There's like five people present. Am I early?
I climb up the stairs and settle somewhere in the middle rows. Pulling out my art book, I start to draw while listening to crime podcasts. I got carried away with the drawing, not noticing a pair of eyes staring at me from my side view. The podcast stops and I catch the pair of eyes that are the same as mine except there's specks of gold.
