Take Two || Jikook

Chapter 9

“What did you call me here for? Is everything fine at home?”, Sungwoon asked while sitting on a chair beside Jimin. Jimin had called him to the café near their school since it was weekend.

“Yeah, everything’s alright, don’t worry.”, Jimin replied, “I called you here for meeting them.”

“Them who?”

“Jungkook and his friend, Eunwoo.”

Sungwoon’s eyes widened like saucers, “Jungkook as in Jeon Jungkook and Eunwoo as in Cha Eunwoo? You’re talking about them?”

“Yeah, who else in school have similar names like them? And why are you so shocked about it? You already know that Jungkook is sitting with me.”, Jimin frowned at his reaction.

“Yes I knew that. But as far as I can recall, the last time you talked to me about him was weeks before where you were telling how rude and troublesome he was to you. And now you’re meeting me with him? Just how close did you two get in a span of weeks and why was I kept in the dark about it?”, Sungwoon crossed his arms eyeing Jimin suspiciously.

Jimin pursed his lips. It was indeed true that the last time he mentioned about Jungkook to Sungwoon was weeks before when he first started sitting with him. After that he never brought up that topic in front of Sungwoon again, partly because both of them had been busy with their respective projects so it slipped Jimin’s mind, and also because Sungwoon wasn’t exactly fond of Jungkook. He knew about Jimin’s feelings for Jungkook and because the latter was a player, Sungwoon had warned Jimin many times not to get too attached so that he won’t get hurt later.

What Sungwoon didn’t know was how close Jimin and Jungkook had gotten within this period. Sungwoon didn’t know Jungkook like Jimin did. He saw Jungkook just like others, Jimin saw him for him. And that’s why Jimin wanted both of the important people in his life to meet eachother. To make Sungwoon believe that Jungkook isn’t as bad as he shows to others.

“All of it happened in such a short span that it slipped my mind to tell you, plus the project week ended just 5 days before and until then I and him both were busy with it since we had to do it all by ourselves.”, Jimin explained. He and Jungkook together were able to complete the project, thankfully in time after the other three were removed from their group. They also got extra credits and praises for their work by Mr. Kwon. And somehow that small incident acted on Jungkook’s mind in a good way since from then on, he told Jimin not to do his homeworks or assignments anymore, that he’d do it himself.

“But weren’t there 5 members allotted in each group? Why did only you two do everything, what about others?”

“It’s a long story. I’ll tell you later. And as for me and Jungkook, it’s better to see it for yourself rather than me telling you.”, Jimin was saying when he heard Jungkook calling him.

“Minnie!”

Jimin turned around from his seat, spotting Jungkook immediately at the entrance as he waved at him, “Kookie, here!”

“Minnie?”, Eunwoo who was standing beside Jungkook, frowned at him.

“Kookie?”, Sungwoon had similar reaction narrowing his eyes at Jimin who only scratched his head. Jungkook took a seat beside Jimin and Eunwoo sat beside him.

“So you’re now on the nickname basis?”, Sungwoon said in a low voice so that only Jimin could hear.

Jimin looked at him sheepishly before changing the topic, “Jungkook, meet Sungwoon, my best friend.”
