I was waiting for Momo before she knocked on the door. She still seemed awful. Like me and Shoto, we'd drifted apart over the past week as well, Momo clearly feeling guilty and feeling that she'd pushed me too far.

"Fumi, I think we need to talk." Momo steeled herself. I moved out of the way to let her in and then shut the door behind her. She went on, "I shouldn't have let you leave that day. I know I pushed you, but it's just because I was so, so sure he'd say yes. I'm sorry - I'm... I'm a terrible friend... but I can fix it. I can help you more now."

It was a heartfelt apology, but I was hardly listening. Just smiling. Absently.

"You seem happy." Momo laughed gravely.

I looked her in the eye. I gave her a knowing stare, and that twinkle that had been missing from her eye instantly returned. Love blocked my vocal chords as she started to grin.

"You... I can't believe this!" Momo shook her head and smiled.

"He said yes." I confirmed.

Momo screamed and run over, hugging me so hard I thought that my spine would snap. She then started to jump up and down and I did too, feeling comfortable in my friend's embrace. She started to cry too and I looked at her as she wiped away her tears.

The happy moment was cut off as fists slammed on the door like a bullet storm. Momo practically skipped to the door and opened it for me.

Mineta was stood there in purple pyjamas and a nightcap, looking livid, "Can you please stop screaming so loudly, it's so anno- GAH-"

Mineta was then picked up and moved out of the way of the door. Shoto then walked into the doorway, straightening his pyjamas.

"Mineta, be quiet. Aoyoma needs his beauty sleep." Shoto scowled.

"But-" he argued.

"Ah! No. Leave." Shoto demanded. My face heated up as he did so, and my smile was uncontrollable.

Mineta waved him off, "Whatever! You all suck. By the way, Momoyao, my door is always unlocked, so-"

"GO!" Shoto and Momo boomed in unison.

Shoto then turned to me as if to ask me something, but he stopped, glancing at Momo. He blushed a little and let out a small, "Hi."

"She knows," I told him, "I should've talked to you about it first, but she's known I've had a crush on you for a long time. I didn't want her to worry."

"Oh. Sorry to worry you, Yaoyorozu. Please forgive me." Shoto bowed slightly.

"No, it's fine!" Momo giggled.

"Great. Um- anyway..." Shoto cleared his throat, "May I check something? Are we boyfriends now? I had a feeling that we were, but then I realised that neither of us ever actually said it."

"Do you want to be my boyfriend?" I asked.

"Of course I do."

"Then we are."

Shoto blushed again; he wasn't very good at hiding his feelings. He brushed some of the maroon hair from his face and smiled, "Thanks. Goodnight, both of you. I'll talk to you tomorrow."

Momo nodded at him, but I just smiled. As Shoto headed down the hallway, I slumped against the doorframe, feeling lovely. Boyfriend. It had a nice ring to it.

***

I stood by the door at 8:14am. I was ready for school, and Shoto had texted me the previous evening, after he went to bed, saying that he thought it'd be a good idea to meet at 8:15am to get to school for 8:30.

I didn't want to be late as to seem sloppy, but I also didn't want to be early as to seem too eager, so instead I stood behind the door, counting down the seconds until I got to see my lover again.

When the minute finally ticked over in 8:15am, there was a knock at the door. I opened it immediately, and surely enough Shoto was stood there. Our eyes intertwined, and our faces both felt warm.

"How long were you stood out there, Shoto?" I asked sweetly (hopefully).

Shoto admitted stiffly, "About three minutes. You?"

"Four."

We both chuckled to ourselves, and I could've sworn that my heart grew in size. Then, he sealed our contemporary love with a kiss just above my lips on the tip of my beak. My hair ruffled again and once again I didn't stop it.

"I think it's... heartwarming. When that happens with your hair." Shoto whispered into my ear, so soft it was hardly audible.

"Thank you." I sniffed.

He linked his fingers with mine and then we started to head down the corridor.

"If I do the math, you've been doing that for about four weeks. That's how long I've been irresistible." Shoto laughed to himself, staring ahead.

I looked up at him, "Pretty much, yes."

"Then there was the note, the stammering, the toilet meetings, eating lunch with us... you must've wanted the secret out for a while. I'm sorry if I was unapproachable; I tend to make people feel uncomfortable." Shoto thought, smiling feebly.

"You don't make me uncomfortable." I assured him, "It was an issue on my part. I promise. You also missed the pizza party, by the way."

"Was that something you did to get with me?"

"Indeed it was. Momo was trying to help me with her popularity points." I admitted shyly.

Shoto looked down at me again. He checked to see if the corridor was empty before he hooked his hands under my armpits and picked me up as if I were a glass of water. He then planted a little kiss on my furry forehead before setting me down again. I almost dropped my schoolbag, and I was panting with shock.

"Please, never do that again!" I shouted, aghast.

Shoto teased me, "What, do you not like being an adorable, little bird boy?"

"I'm not adorable, I'm pure darkness." I seethed, "And don't tease me."

When he saw that he'd genuinely bugged me, he frowned. He then had the master idea of putting a hand under my leg before picking me up bridal style.

"Wh- what are you doing?!" I gasped.

"Holding you until you stop being grumpy. What was even the point in getting with me if you were just going to complain?" Shoto replied nonchalantly, looking ahead as we started to stroll down the stairs.

"Please, Shoto! I feel- gah- incredibly exposed!" I spluttered, bouncing with each stair.

Dark Shadow lied down on my stomach as my blazer fell to my back, "Comfy..."

I grumbled, "Please?"

Shoto smiled cutely at me, before spinning me around, making me yelp. When we stopped spinning, the previous moment ended as we were greeted by the confused faces of Sato and Kirishima. They were mid conversation, and were now looking at Shoto holding me as if we were just married.

"Tokoyami, what are you doing?" Sato chuckled nervously.

"He said that I couldn't carry him down the stairs because I wasn't strong enough." Shoto lied indifferently and smoothly, carrying me over to the back of the sofa, "He was wrong."

"That's so manly of you, dude!" Kirishima threw his fist into the air. I recoiled inwardly.

Shoto then proceeded to dump me over the back of the sofa, and me and Dark Shadow yelped as we ended up in a heap. Sato and Kirishima continued to look at each other in mild confusion, but me and Shoto met our gazes in-between the sofa and the open air, smiling brilliantly.

If this was what it was like to be in love, I could get used to this.
