Ever since the Triwizard Tournament, the Potter twins' nights had been restless and haunted by a recurring series of nightmares. The memories of the tournament and the horrors they had witnessed had taken root in their minds, and this night was no different.
Emma tossed and turned in her bed, trapped in the clutches of a vivid and haunting nightmare.
She found herself back in the Triwizard Tournament maze, surrounded by towering hedges that whispered secrets of danger and fear. The eerie glow of her wand barely illuminated the path ahead as she navigated the labyrinthine twists and turns.
As she moved deeper into the maze, she could hear Cedric's voice calling out to her, his desperate pleas for help echoing through the dark corridors. Her heart pounded in her chest as she followed his voice, each step feeling like an eternity. The sense of dread and urgency in the dream was overpowering.
Finally, she reached a clearing where she saw Cedric, his face pale and his eyes filled with terror. He was trapped, ensnared by thick, thorny vines that coiled around him, constricting tighter with each passing moment. Emma tried to run to him, to free him from the suffocating grip of the vines, but her legs felt like lead.
She screamed his name, tears streaming down her face, but her voice was barely a whisper. The nightmare felt so real, and her desperation grew as she watched Cedric's struggle. He looked at her, his eyes pleading for salvation, and she could do nothing but watch in horror as the life was slowly crushed out of him.
The nightmare held her in its grip, and Emma woke up with a gasp, her heart racing, and her body drenched in sweat. She sat up in bed, breathing heavily, the vivid memory of the dream still fresh in her mind.
It wasn't long before her desperate cries and the commotion of her struggle in bed reached the ears of Sirius and Remus, who had been sleeping nearby. Their parental instincts kicked in, and they rushed to her room in alarm.
The door to Emma's room burst open, and in the dim light, the concern and worry etched on Sirius and Remus's faces were unmistakable.
"Sweetheart, you're okay." Remus said, his voice laced with anxiety.
Sirius quickly moved to sit beside Emma, wrapping his arms around her to offer comfort and support. "You're safe, comet. It's just a nightmare," he assured her, his tone soothing.
Emma clung to them, tears still streaming down her cheeks, and she described the vivid nightmare that had jolted her awake.
Tears streamed down Emma's cheeks as she clung to her fathers, her voice trembling with distress.
"Why won't they stop, Dad?" she choked out, her eyes filled with a mixture of fear and frustration. The vivid and haunting nightmares had become a relentless torment, and she longed for respite from their grip on her psyche.
Sirius held Emma close, his arms wrapped protectively around her. He spoke with a soothing tone, "I know, pup. It's been tough. We won't let these nightmares control you."
"I don't want to keep being this weak." She whispered.
Remus gently brushed a strand of hair away from Emma's face. "You're not weak, Emma. You've been through a lot, and it's natural to be affected by it. But you're also incredibly strong. We'll help you face these nightmares, and in time, they'll lose their grip on you." His voice was filled with reassurance and support, emphasizing the resilience she possessed.
Harry arrived in Emma's room, concern etched on his face.
He asked gently, "Everything okay, Emma?"
