"Alright so we're just going to clean up some beach to work on our physical capabilities and control over our quirks?"

Katsumi stretched as they walked along towards their destination. She wore a black sports bra and tight exercise pants that made it hard for Izumi not to stare. Beside the ash blonde walked the greenette in a tank top and running shorts while staring at her phone for directions and a distraction.

"Yeah apparently this place is filled with trash so we can work out by cleaning it. Then we can focus on controlling and improving our Quirks, creating different types and sized of explosions to break up larger trash for you. Meanwhile I'll focus on more control, range, and an idea I had last night!"

"An idea?" Katsumi was genuinely curious since Izumi's ideas usually turned into amazing things.

Izumi turned to her best friend with excitement in her eyes, "Your manga gave me an idea. If all I need is to see to cut something, does that work if I visualize it in my head?"

"I knew you'd come around to the manga eventually!" Katsumi smirked.

"It's only cause you recommended it!" Izumi quickly defended herself while grumbling with a flushed face, "Oh we're here."

Both girls looked up only to be met with what looked like literal mountains of trash as far as the eye could see.

"Hey how long until the entrance exams again?"

"Five months."

"Can we really clean this in five months?"

"If we spend six to eight hours a day with minimal breaks we can."

The duo sighed and reconfirmed their plans for training before separating and each starting with their own mountains of trash to somehow clean.

-----

Katsumi had grown into the routine of waking up and jogging to the beach before beginning her daily training. The morning was entirely physical exercise that consisted of moving large piles of trash into a truck that her parents had somehow procured. After a short lunch break it was then onto quirk training until the early evening when the duo would walk home together. The training had given her time to organize her thoughts which were mostly strange ones.

The most important thing on her mind was that she was unable to do anything while Izumi was trapped by the slime. Katsumi had froze when it mattered the most and it took her best friend's call to snap her out of it. A hero would never freeze like that, a hero would have saved Izumi without hesitating. She was weak and she needed to change that. So Katsumi put everything she had into her training so much so that she had to practically be dragged home with Izumi's help because of how exhausted she was. Izumi had cracked the joke that at least she wouldn't need to shower since Quirk training dried up all her sweat but that only gave her an idea to try and store accumulated sweat for later use.

However the most concerning of her thoughts also were centered around her green haired best friend. It started around when they first entered middle school and puberty had hit Katsumi much earlier than most of her peers. She had grown in more ways than one and she began to notice Izumi take glanced at her now and again. For some reason it made her both happy and embarrassed to be looked at by her best friend. So she always strived to look good in front of her and the incident from a few days ago was a catastrophic failure in that regard. So she decided to wear more, revealing work out clothes during their training since that always seemed to make Izumi strangely happy. But there was a recent change to those thoughts and it happened whenever Katsumi saw her best friend.
To put it in simple terms it was hard for the blonde girl to not look at Izumi without feeling strange. She wasn't sure sure what it meant but if it was anything similar to how Izumi acted then it was a good but also nervous emotion. It gave her warmth but it also made Katsumi afraid of losing or perhaps not seeing her best and only friend anymore.

"I wonder if she feels the same."

CRASH

Katsumi bolted towards the origin of the deafening crash and prayed that she wouldn't find an injured Izumi. Her prayers were answered and she was gifted with the sight of the greenette with a massive grin on her face.

"Izumi are you-"

Woosh

The ash blonde felt something rush past her and her eyes widened in realization. Izumi stood before her, hand outstretched and her shirt soaked in sweat but most importantly her black bandages still wrapped tightly covering her eyes.

The greenette smirked, "Not as powerful as a normal Rend yet but still better than nothing."

Something within Katsumi howled for her to take action and she didn't fight it. She let her sweat pool in a single point but still it was not enough. It needed guidance, like the barrel of a gun guides a bullet. A bullet that could pierce through anything. She raised her hands and aimed them at the garbage just behind Izumi. Katsumi felt the explosion release in a more powerful and condensed shot that it had been before. It came out just as she envisioned it, a bullet of light that pierced through the mountain of garbage. She smirked with a playful glare at Izumi.

"Looks like we both have something new to work on."

-----

From a perch high on the rooftop of a nearby building stood a skeletal man with a smirk on his face, "I told you they were something special Togata."

A blonde boy with bright blue eyes and a plain face nodded, "The green haired one especially. I'm not sure I could dodge that thing she did before the blonde showed up. The other girl is nothing to scoff at either, with raw power like that she'll definitely be in the top five for the first years."

"Keep on eye on them," the skeletal man waved as he walked away, "I have a feeling they'll be important moving forward."
