"I swear! If you don't hold the ladder properly! I'll fall and die and haunt you forever " Riya threatened Dev to which Dev chuckled

"Don't laugh! I'm afraid of falling."Riya whispered

"I'll Catch you." He smiled back at making at least 50 shades of red take over her cheeks!

Sighing away such a cute moment! Riya got herself ready to get down the ladder- she and Aishwarya had got themselves into a wonderful work of decoration

She had worn a white tank top, a yellow-orange skirt and a red dupatta around her neck.

She had always been scared of this bloody ladder but when Aditi's mother asked her to climb it to hang the flowers! Riya couldn't say no and now she slowly got down the ladder holding she wouldn't fall on her face and break her nose

She had always been scared of this bloody ladder but when Aditi's mother asked her to climb it to hang the flowers! Riya couldn't say no and now she slowly got down the ladder holding she wouldn't fall on her face and break her nose.

But who was she kidding as she looked down she felt her head spinning and at the same time she decided to step down the ladder, Missing a step

Riya immediately closed her eyes and waited to fall flat on her face but then not feeling any pain on herself she slowly opened her eyes. And met those black orbs that she longed to look at for years, holding her tight, safe and secure.

She slowly gulped the lump in her throat! His scent Her Rain in the Summer! he smelled so good! So good that she felt that he was hers...

Suddenly he left her foot on the ground and that's when Riya was brutally brought back to reality!

"Th...Thank you" she said and Dev walked away not bothering to reply making her scatter

What was happening around? Why her? Why now? why always her?

She stood rooted to her place looking at the ground! He kept his promise, he caught her when she fell! Oh, how he failed to catch her when she was falling head over in love.

She felt something so brutally break in her watching him from afar! Her inside was shanking that now she wanted nothing but words! Words of comfort especially from him!

These many years! She Had like always fooled herself into thinking she could live without him but then now she realised! She did not wanna heal!

sometimes we don't want to heal because the pain is the last link to what we've lost.

Riya slowly walked towards the living area where Aditi was sitting talking to her cousins, she sat next to her slowly and Aditi looked at her and raised her eyebrows asking her what happened

Riya nodded as nothing and pulled Aditi's arms around her and snuggled close to her.

Aditi smiled and continued talking to her cousins!

Ignorance hurts! It does but when it came from someone so special like how Dev was for Riya! It pained badly like someone set her heart on fire, his ignorance was pricking deep inside her heart. She did not want to say it too loud! But that was dissolving her, slowly but surely...

He ran his hands over her past - lingering over the dents and worn edges of her heart.
And when she thought he'd run away like the others had... he told her she was a warrior, and that she would never fight another battle alone.

"You okay Rii?" Aditi asked her once her cousins were out of sight and Riya looked at her while she pulled Aditi into a hug.

"You saw dev"? Aditi asked to which Riya nodded slowly

"Oh, that's bad? Did you guys fight?" She asked to which she nodded as noo

"Aditi" came a voice and when Aditi realised it was none other than Dev's parents

"Shoot! Riya Dev's parents are here" Aditi said not breaking the hug

"I'll get back to Room" Riya whispered and stood up to leave

"Congratulations Aditi! So happy for you is this Riya?" Dev's mother asked making Riya stop in the place where she stood.

"Aditi Ma can I get some Water?" His father asked

"I'll go bring something to eat for you all" Aditi said eyeing Riya while his mother dragged Riya to the sofa.

"You look prettier in real than in photographs " said his mother looking at her face adorably

"You know me, Aunty?" Riya asked

"How we won't dear? Dev won't stop talking about you when you guys were in college but I don't know what happened after we shifted to Hyderabad?" Uncle said cluelessly

Riya sat yet again not knowing what to answer or how to answer!

"I understand distance does break friendships I guess " Aunty said

"But thanks my child," she said

"Why Aunty?"

"My child is always a happy kid but then the most smiles I have seen on his face was when he talked about you! "His mother said!

Did she break something so pure and innocent? Did she ruin his inner child?

Something in her yet again shook! Today was not her day there were still 10 more days to go yet and Riya knew now that it was not! gone be her days too ...
