☆ Just Another Day ☆

When i opened my eyes i found myself in my room, on my bed.

'huh? how did i get here??'
I thought as I got up and went to the bathroom.
'wait did i fall asleep? where is Hunter? Hunter....'
I couldn't stop thinking about his name. It suits him.
Then suddenly it hit me.
The communication bracelets!
I grabbed the gem and took a deep breath before I spoke/thought.

'Hunter?'
I waited for a moment for a reply but nothing..
I sighed and went to get ready for the day.

I got dressed and was now having breakfast with Raine before I have to go to school, when suddenly I hear a voice, a very familiar voice saying my name.
I looked at my bracelet and the gem was slightly glowing.

'hey, I was talking with the Emperor, is everything alright?'
I heard and then placed my hand on the gem and replied
'Um, yeah, just curious about what happened last night'
'Oh yeah you fell asleep so I carried you back to the castle'
'Oh erm, thank you'
I let go of the gem and felt my face heat up slightly
I completely ignored it and blamed it on the temperature in the room.

I hugged Raine and left to go to school.
Like usually I was just walking down the hallways of the castle. Every hallway was the same but the complete opposite at the same time, the walls were the same, but also weren't even similar, this place is strange, very strange....
While I was caught up in my day dreaming I accidentally bumped into someone.
I looked up and was met with a pair of green eyes looking down at me, his purple hair swaying around like always.
"-sorry, Darius" I apologized almost immediately.
His face twisted in a weird expression I haven't seen before.
He suddenly smiled slightly.
"Its okay, don't worry about it, kid"
I felt his eyes look me up and down
"You've been hanging around with The Golden Guard huh?"
My cheeks flushed red and I replied
"Erm, yeah"
He smiled in a way that told me he knows something i dont.
He nodded slightly and walked away.
I walked towards the bridge to exit the castle grounds but my mind was stuck on that expression he made.
'wait how did he know-? theres definitely something going on with him and Hunter.'

Random thoughts flooded my brain for the whole walk to Hexide.
I walked in like everyday and saw the huma- I mean Luz, with some people talking, most likely her friends.
She glanced in my direction, waved and motioned for me to walk over to them, so i did.

"Hi Y/N!" she said enthusiastically.
'how can someone have that much energy at school?' I thought as I waved back
"Hi Luz" I smiled slightly and she introduced me to her friends,
Willow and Gus.
They seem nice, really nice.

We hung out a bit until it was time for class, i had my first class with Luz and we talked about me wanting to study multiple tracks.

'i bet the Emperor wont allow it... But studying more than one type of magic? Thats basically a dream come true'
These thoughts occupied my mind for the whole day but soon enough the bell yelled telling us that the school day was (finally) over.
I left quickly. I had work to do at the castle.

As soon as i reached the castle I immediately went into the Healing Room, sat down and checked my tasks for today.

'Unpack some stuff.... thats easy... hmm... oh wait I have to take care of the plants in here, they're all dying' I thought and stood up, walking over to the collection of plants on the window. I focused on the plants and tried healing them which actually worked. I was proud of myself since i never actually used this type of magic before and it worked on the first try. Then i heard an applause behind me.
I turned around and saw Hunter at the door, leaning on the doorway.
My face flushed with embarrassment as he walked over.
"pretty impressive, considering you study only healing magic" he said and sat down on the bed he sits on every time.
"whatcha doing here Hun-" i then realised theres scouts all around the halls and changed my mind "-Goldie?"
He sighed and pointed to a wound on his leg, quite a large one too and a wound on his neck
I looked at the wounds and studied them for a moment and then got the stuff I needed to heal them.
I quickly healed the one on his leg, but still used a lot of energy.
Now the neck is more of a vulnerable spot so i had to be more careful.
He moved his mask up slightly so that i can heal his neck and I saw a little bit of a scar on his face.
I sat on my chair next to him with my face quite close to his while i healed him.
I once again felt heat from under his mask but blamed it on the fact that he's wearing the mask and it must be hot underneath it... right?

I stopped my daydreaming and finished healing him.

I was quite exhausted but i managed to fully heal his wounds and smiled proudly.

"Awesome work as always"
He said and lowered his mask back to cover his whole face.

My cheeks heated up slightly but i tried to ignore it and replied back with a smile.

"Well, I'm quite busy today, so I have to go but I'll hopefully see you soon"
He said as he stood up and started walking away.
"Bye, Y/N" He waved slightly
"Bye, Goldie" I waved back and watched him leave my vision.

I sighed and sat down on my chair.
'Titan, I can't stop thinking about last night... Did it mean something..?.. Does he like me..? Do I even like him..??.. ughh..'

I jumped slightly as i heard some commotion behind me and turned around to see Darius standing there.
He walked in the room and shut the door behind him.
"So I see you and Hunter are really close?" He said with this goofy smirk on his face and raised an eyebrow.
"Well,.. yeah, I mean we're friends..?"
"Took you long enough"
My face scrunched slightly
"What do you mean..?"
"I mean that you're the only people under the age of 18 here, everyone was expecting you to at least be friends or something.."
He stopped and looked off into the distance through the window but quickly looked back to me.
"If im being honest... I was hoping you two would become friends, since he has none... Its quite sad really.. The Emperor never let him go to Hexide or hang out with anyone who could be a wild witch. Youre lucky he doesn't know you're friends with that human, Luz-"
I started slowly zoning out as he kept talking but still picked up on some stuff he was saying, when i heard a sentence that brought my attention back to what he was saying.
"-You should probably talk to The Owl Lady at some po-"
I cut him off "The Owl Lady? Why would i talk to her?? Isnt she a wild witch and a wanted criminal..?"
"Wait.. has Raine not told you..?"
"Told me what..???"
"They are probably not ready to tell you yet, but i think you should bring her up when you two talk, maybe then they'll tell you..-" His voice faded as a notification sound came from his scroll "-ugh, I've got to go help with some new recruits. I'll see you later, kid"
He said and walked away with a sassy walk(🤭)
"See you-"
I said and he was gone.
I started thinking about what he told me about Hunter..
'Is he really that lonely here? Why isnt he allowed to do anything? I shouldn't get into it... its not my business... ugh, but i really wanna know now..." i groaned and looked at the clock that was on the wall.
'Oh wait... its already 15 minutes past my shift, damn..'
I packed my stuff and left the healing room, on the way I passed the other healer and smiled to them and they returned it.
I down the long hypnotizing hallways as my thoughts drifted to what Darius said about The Owl Lady.
'Why would Raine hide anything related to her? Maybe Darius was talking about someone else... maybe its just a mistake.. or a joke..? No.. he doesn't make jokes, thats Darius not Luz.. Why am i even thinking about this so much?? Its not even that important, i have way more important stuff to do than to over think this-'
I stopped in front of the familiar door, leading to a place i called home. I opened to door expecting to be met with a hug and a smile from Raine, but nothing was there... except a small note on the table
'Hey N/N, I have some business to finish, ill be back before 10. Theres food in the fridge, and if you go somewhere just leave me a note or something.

I read the note and smiled slightly. I hung my jacket on a chair and went to set my stuff in my room. I took my backpack off my back and set it on the floor next to my bed and flopped down on the bed face first with a thud and a muffled groan.

'Time for a nap.. then ill go to see if Hunters in his room'
I thought as my eyelids got heavier and tiredness took over my body....

I KNOE I HAVENT UPDATED IN SO DAMN LONG, AND I'M SORRY FOR THAT, BUT IM SLOWLY LEAVING TOH BEHIND BUT ILL STILL UPDATE NONETHELESS!
