Podcast recording day

Dorothea's pov

I was in the same room as my dad when he was recording the podcast with uncle Jason, when they started talking about the concert during an ad read. I decided that i should join in so that's what i did.

"Hold up real quick. Speaking of Taylor Swift, i know that you went to her concert with Thea, how was it?" uncle Jason asked.

"Well, he was a little disappointed that she doesn't talk before or after her shows because she has to save her voice for the 44 songs that she sings" i said before either of them could respond.

"Yeah, i was a little butthurt because i didn't get to hand her one of the bracelets i made for her" dad added.

"You made her a bracelet? Out of what?" asked uncle Jason.

"The swifties trade self made friendship bracelets between each other, and we traded a ton of them, but dad made Taylor a special one with his number on it" i answered.

"Wait with your number as in 87 or your phone number?" my uncle questions dad.

"You know which one" dad answers with a smile as uncle Jas' bursts into laughter.

I went to start making dinner as they continued recording. I decided to make chili as its one of the handful of foods that i can force myself to eat easily. I would probably have a breakdown if i had to eat pasta in front of my dad. Or just in general tbh.

"Hey kiddo, the podcast's done" said dad as he came into the kitchen.

"It smells amazing!" he exclaimed.

"Thanks dad! It's nearly ready so you can set the table" i said.

That's what he did. We started eating with me trying my hardest to look like a normal person eating. We made some small talk until training camp came up again.

"Are you sure that you'll be okay on your own for two weeks? You know that you can always go with me or even move in with grandma for a while" he said.

"I know dad, but i'm good on my own and you know that. I'll let you know if anything happens, i promise" i told him.

"Okay, okay, i'm just worried because i love you" he responded.

"I know, i love you too but i'll be okay" i replied.

We both had the rest off the day off besides dad having to pack his bag. I helped him with that because at least that way i could be sure that he really has everything that he needs.

Just for the record, i don't know much about how NFL schedules work so these kinds of parts probably won't have a date included.

I obviously changed the podcast part because i wanted to write Thea into that conversation.
