"Rachel! Over here!" Harry yells. I look up to see the trio in the common room.  I get up and walk to them.

"Rachel, thank merlin you're here.  We need your help," Ron tells me.

"With what?" I ask.

"Do you know a spell to un-curse someone?" he asks. I couldn't even un-curse myself. If I had a spell like that, I think I would've used it before.

"No."

"Oh, that's a shame. I suppose I shouldn't have accidentally cursed Garfield then."

"You did what?" I ask, looking at him, trying to decide if he's joking or not. If it's serious, I can probably get rid of it another way.

"Oh, don't worry! It's not that bad!" Hermione quickly assures me.

"What's not that bad? What did Ron do to him, exactly?" I ask carefully.

"Well, um, I may have, um, misspoken a spell, and then he got kind of weird, and then he turned into... well, he turned into a cat, okay?" Ron pulls out something from behind his back to reveal a  green cat. "We can't figure out why he's green, though."

Okay, they think they cursed him.  I can work with that. I can somehow cover up Gar's powers,  and make up a reason for why he's green. Easy, right?

"What exactly did you say, Ron?" I ask.

"Uh, like, interculus vexani or something."

"Oh, I know what happened! There's a spell, called Coreus.  That's what turned him into a cat, and the Vexasi part turned him green. They're spells from America. Both of them. When you messed up your spell, you used a completely different spell. Two spells, actually."

"There are different spells in America?"

"American boarding schools, mainly. Let me tell you, they suck," I say.

"Uh, I hate to interrupt, but I think Gar wants you to carry him," Ron interrupts. I look down to see a squirming Garfield. Rolling my eyes, I take the cat from Ron. Gar immediately purrs and rubs against me.

"Garfield, stop it," I hiss.

"Well, can you fix him? I really don't want to take him to the infirmary. I'll probably get detention and lose house points..." Ron whines.

"Yeah, I can handle it. Will you tell the professor I'll be late? Both of us will be late, actually," I add.

"Yes, of course," Hermione says.

"Alright. The others should be able to get there themselves. I'm going to... go deal with this," I tell them, going back to our dorms.

"Alright, switch back, Garfield," I order. He shakes his head no.  "What do you mean, no?"

He shakes his head again.

"Can   you change back?" I ask him. He shakes his head. Okay, so this isn't fully him. The spell probably made him change, and isn't letting him turn back. I know the green thing is because of him, and he probably turned into a cat because of the spell they ruined. Honestly, how they haven't revealed themselves to the humans-muggles, I guess is what they call them-amazes me. Especially since there are so many of them. Klarion would have a field day here. Just the chaos of this one school would be enough for him to thrive. I really don't thing Hogwarts is a place for children.

Well, normal children. Jinx and Rose would fit right in here. Hell, those two alone could kill Voldewarts or whatever his name is now. Really, any of the women I know could. I mean, Kori could absolutely beat the shit out of that fifty year old no nose.  Karen could at least destroy the horcuxes, because she's just smart like that. Not to mention everyone else. Wonder Woman, Canary, Catwoman, Miss Martian, and pretty much anyone. Most of the boys could too.

"Azarath, Metrion, Zinthos," I mutter. Suddenly, a very naked Garfield is standing in front of me. I immediately close and cover my eyes.

"Gar, put on some clothes," I order.

"You...did it, Rae...Rae," he slurs. Is he drunk or something.

"Azarath, Metrion, Zinthos," I mutter, summoning clothes on the shapeshifter. I take my hand off from my eyes and look at him.

"What's wrong with you?" I ask.

"Absolutely nothing!" he tells me, looping his arm around my shoulders.

"Did you get drunk again?" I ask him.

"Of course not! Did you get drunk recently?" he accuses.

"I don't drink." Too many... emotions come out of people when they're drunk. That would cause a lot of destruction to wherever I was.

"That's right!"

"Alright, I'm going to sober you up a bit. Then, we're going to wait here for about ten minutes, then go to class," I tell him.

"You're so smart, Rae Rae." Then, he does something I never thought in a million years he's do. He licks my cheek.

"Ew! Garfield!" I hiss, using his sleeve to wipe... him off my cheek.
