A year later...

Jinhwan's POV

I woke up feeling restless as ever. The elders have given us a new mission again 3 days ago. It was the hardest, I think. Not in the sense that it's not do-able. It's just personal. But I couldn't say no, unless I tell the whole truth to the elders but I know I couldn't without asking for Amber's permission and knowing her, she would never do such a thing. She's too nice to do that.

I sighed causing Amber, who's sleeping on my bare chest to stir. We've been doing it too frequent lately. I talked about starting up a family with Amber once and I could see it through her eyes that she's not ready for it, but for my sake she just smiled and say that if I wanted to, we could. I couldn't do that to my mate, so I told her we just have to wait. I haven't proposed her to marry me yet. I am so ready to settle down with Amber but when I asked Yunhyeong few months ago about his thoughts on me marrying Amber, he told me to wait because Amber, even though she looks tough, she's not ready for marriage and family because she still has problem with her own family. I really appreciate Yunhyeong for being there for Amber when it comes to this kind of problem, because I know she wouldn't tell me this in fear that it will saddened me. I know that if I propose, she would say yes, but I also want her to have her closure with Chanwoo first. Which brings me to the mission the elders gave us.

I didn't realise I was breathing heavily until her angelic voice pulls me from my thoughts.

"Baby, are you okay?" Amber asked touching my cheeks and I instantly grab her hand in mine, bringing it to my lips and smile when she smiled brightly at me. She's so beautiful.

"Yeah, it's just I was thinking" I said

"About what?" She said and adjusted herself so she's sitting next to me, leaning her head on my shoulder.

"Just a mission" I said

"You don't have to come this time babe." I continue and she froze

Uh-oh. That is not good. She sit back straight and turn so that she's looking directly at me.

"And why not?" She asked, her eyes glaring at me and all I can think about is, shit.

"Um, you know... uhh" I said and there's a knock on the door causing me to sigh in relief. Whoever behind the door, you're the best. I quickly hop off the bed and grabbed my boxer. I was about to open the door when Amber said.

"Don't think you've gotten away yet" She said and went to the bathroom with her stuff.

I opened the door with panic expression only to see Junhoe behind the door.

"What is it?" I asked

"They called, it's getting worst. We need to tell them when we're going. What did Amber say?" He asked and I keep quiet

"Dude, you haven't told her?" He asked and laughed for a while. I look at him with annoyance.

"Are you done?" I asked

"Man, you're a pussy when it comes to her" He mocked me, laughing.

"Tell me, you're not scared of her? Then you can tell her." I said to him and he immediately shut up

"Good point. But still, we need to tell Amber soon though, it's just..." He started

"Tell me what?" Amber says and our eyes widen

"Shit" Both of us swore under our breath

"I'm just gonna go..." Junhoe said and he proceeds running away. What a friend I have. I closed the door and turn around to face her, giving her a nervous smile while she glare at me.
