Before I start, here's a friendly reminder that the character's age and heights are not the same with their real life ones. For the sake of this book, here's the ages and heights of the characters.

"Mommy look! I see squirrel" I said, clapping excitedly
"Go get it sweetie, but don't go too far" She said
Nodding excitedly, I ran off chasing the squirrel.
Today, it's my 8th birthday and my parents decided to bring me into my favorite place, as we call it. It was just a clearing in the woods, not far from the pack house. My older brother Chanwoo didn't come along because he wanted to stay with Hanbin and Jiwon, his bestfriends and also the Alpha's son and the Beta's son. My dad is the Third in Command, so naturally, Chanwoo bonded with the future Alpha and Beta as they will lead the pack one day. Today's activity consist of us having a picnic near the meadow, playing some games and more, what can I say? I'm my parents' princess. My parents are mate, they met when my mum turn 18 years old. When I was 5 I remember asking my mom what mate is.
She said "Amber, one day, when you meet your mate, know that you are lucky. Not everyone found they mate, you know, sometimes their mate died before meeting them, sometimes they get rejected, but, your mate will be the one that take cares of you, guide you when you're lost, he will be your ultimate saviour and he is your other half, one day, you will understand what I mean" She said, smiling. Back then I never understood what she meant, I was 5 after all. But as I grow older, I see how much my parents love each other.
Chanwoo said it was gross, but I said it was sweet how much they love each other and told him I want to meet my mate too. Chanwoo is very protective, so he said he would never let me be with any guy. Jiwon, the Beta's son always teases me, he's always mean to me, unlike Hanbin who is very nice to me. They are the only guys Chanwoo let me befriend with.
As I ran chasing the squirrel, I realise, I went in too far.
"Sweetheart, come back here, we're going home" I heard my mom said through mindlink.
So I stopped and turned around, going back to the direction I'm from. Few minutes later, I know I'm getting close to my parents, but suddenly I was thrown to a tree.
"Oooowwwwwwwww" I cried and look up but all I see is a wolf I didn't recognize. They're called rogue. Rogue is the wolf that is thrown out from their pack or they left their pack. But wolf without pack could be deadly, only those that commits crime would be thrown away from their pack. But some are not that bad. Most Alphas would kill rogues on sight, unless they come off as harmless, even if that's the case, every Alphas are very tense when it comes to rogues. They could sometimes be spies. But anyway, this wolf does not come off as harmless to me, the way it snarls and the bloodthirst clear on his eyes, this wolf want me dead, badly.
"Mommy, Daddy" I said through the mindlink I'm still developing as I'm still too young. I could hear my parents' voice through mindlink, but I have a hard time responding to them because my wolf is still young.
The rogue is closing in on me when suddenly it was thrown away by my dad's wolf. My dad is a very beautiful white wolf. His wolf is big, although not as big as the Alpha and Betas, he is still larger and taller than other wolves.
"Amber, go find mommy and hide" He said through mindlink
Me being a good girl, ran as fast as I could until I see my mum and hide behind her. From afar we saw the wolf and my dad fighting when suddenly my dad scream in agony, and my mum fell. The rogue turn around from my dad and towards me. He then ran full speed towards me and before he reach me, ice cold water was splashed all over me and I suddenly wake up, gasping for air.
"Wake up, bitch" Chanwoo snarl
