1. Past

I ran through the yard with my brother, laughing.

I hope this never changes. I hope I can stay here with mom and nii-san forever.

I collided into something. Or someone. I rubbed my head and looked up.

It was a man, and I immediately got on my knees.

"I'm sorry, sir! It was an accident!"

"Pesky kid. Go away."

"Y-yes! Ok!"

I ran back toward nii-san, glancing back at the man.

He was chasing me.

I yelped and ran into nii-san's arms.

I was only six at the time. Nii-san was fourteen.

"(Y/n)!" nii-san glared up at the man, "Why are you chasing my sister?!"

The man glanced at my brother, then made a hand sign. A weird circle appeared.

"(Y/N)! RUN!" nii-san yelled, pushing me away.

"Wait!" I screeched, then a heard an ear piercing shriek that I'd never forget.

I looked at my older brother, who was in flames.

"KENTARO!" I screamed.

I watched in horror as he crumbled to ashes.

Then I kept running. I ran faster than ever, tears in my eyes.

"MOM! MOM!"

She ran outside, searching for me.

"(Y/n)?! What's wrong?" she smiled warmly at me, until she burst into flames, just like nii-san.

I've never forgotten that smile.

I watched, terrified. Then I waited for my own death.

Then I froze.

(Y/n)!

Nii-san?

Fight him! You can!

I whirled toward him and clapped, making a blue circle appear in front of me. It shot a jet of water at the guy, making him run away.

I turned toward my house, which was burning.

I watched it until it was just a pile of ash.

We lived out in the country, so I doubt anyone saw anything.

I stood up on weak knees and walked down the pathway, leaving.

Leaving my home.

I went to a town, where it was crowded with people. I took out what little jewel I had.

"3000 jewel..." I muttered, "Alright. Good enough."

I saw a plaza, where people were making performances.

Maybe I could make money like that!

I ran over to a spot, then clapped. The water wasn't that hard to control, so I was able to make a breathtaking sight.

When it was over, I got so much jewel from the huge crowd of people watching that I could barely keep it in my pockets.

"Woah! 12000 jewel?!" I exclaimed. I looked around for a hotel or something, then ran off.

I stood on my tiptoes, trying to see above the counter.

A man looked at me and smiled.

"Yes, young lady?"

"I'd like to get a room."

"Aren't you a little too young to be here by yourself?"

I looked down.

"My family was just killed."

His look saddened.

"I'm sorry, sweetie. You know what? I own this place. You can have a room for as long as you'd like, free of charge," his expression turned serious, "But once you're a teenager, you'll have to start paying, ok?"

I nodded gratefully.

"Thank you so much!"

He nodded and handed me a key.

"There you go. I don't serve food, so you'll have to buy it on your own."

"Alright!" I walked up the stairs to the room on the top and opened the door.

I took a deep breath and plopped down on the bed. Then I sobbed silently into the pillow.

"M-mom... Kentaro..." my sadness turned to rage, "I swear, I'll avenge your deaths."

Me: Poor (y/n)! *pats your back* I know I said I was gonna do Ed, but-
Edward: did she use alchemy or something? She clapped-
Me: Ed, quit.
Kirito: Akita, he's got a point.
Me: don't you start, Kazuto.
You: *shakes your head*
Rin: Aki-chan?! Are you insane?! Why do you keep making your stories so damn sad?!
Me: To keep the readers coming. And, you asked if I was insane? A little bit.
Everyone but me: *facepalms*
Me: what~?! :3
Natsu: hey, when do I come in?
Me: later.
Natsu: aww~! No fair! Everyone else was in the first chapter~!
Me: *jumps on his head* just wait you dragon moron!
Natsu: dragon moron? *moves, making me fall facefirst on the ground*
Me: oww~! Natsu-kun~! That wasn't very nice~! ERZA!
Natsu: *covers my mouth* sorrysorrysorrysorrysorrysorrysorrysorry-
Me: OK OK!
You: *laughing like an idiot*
