18. Not a Hero

So that's how it's done. You can't cure the fully infected individual, there is no such cure, if someone turns into an undead, the process may be stopped but if it's already done, it loses the individual's humanity.

So my father and I just finished the cure, he's been working on it ever since the virus was created. The viral infection can spread throughout the body around 6 hours, if someone infected would get the proper treatment within the alloted time, his life is saved.

Finally! This will be a great addition to our arsenal.

There was a knock on the door. When it opened, I saw a very familliar face wearing a shirt and pants, I examined it completely before the idea registered in my mind, I grabbed the handgun and aimed it to him.

"Hey, don't point dangerous things towards me."

"Tristan Lopez, one of the top ranking soldiers of Holon, I happened to see your information when we broke to Holon's Network. What are you doing here?"

Ibinaba ni papa yung kamay ko.

"Let me explain, he is the reason why I escaped the Holon, thanks to him, I was able to reach here and build a colony, I guess we can account him as a good person."

"Smart thinking there, I presume that you are Luke. Andito ako para tumulong na since off guard ang Holon dahil sa NetVirus na pinadala ng papa mo, which made me wipe off a whole lot of the forces. That's why I just escaped recently. I just arrived by my chopper."

Oh, Okay, don't care either way. Not interested. I just nodded that's all.

"Luke. I know this is too much to ask, but I would like to make a request."

"Ano po yun pa?"

"After three days, we, by means of we, it means, US, all of us, will raid Holon's base for good. It system is under a lockdown by now, until next week, I developed a NetVirus that strong to hold it off, and by three days of time, we need all the help we can get."

So by raiding Holon, also means that we're gonna get past through this nightmare. I wish.

"Okay, agreed, but you should talk to my friends first."

"That's no big deal."

I nodded and walked outside the facility to get some fresh air. I looked at the sky, it's already dusk. Pero wala pa din sila, what's taking them so long? I think my father said that the mission can be established for just 2 hours, but I think they already took 4. Nakaalis na nga din yung train kasi may signal fire na daw, pero grabe, ang tagal ha. Maybe Steph did something annoying... AGAIN.

Nagmumuni-muni ako nang biglang may kumalabit sa likod ko, my insticts say that it's the annoying guy, so I think I shouldn't bother to look back.

"Bakit?"

"Hey, I am sorry if I am an Ex-member of the Soldiers but I'm a good guy. I swear."

"Oh, okay."

"So anu yung perceptions mo dun sa pagraraid?"

"Based on my calculations, we will have a 50/50."

"And why is that?"

"The probability of succeeding is equal to probability of failing, number 1, you might betray us and number 2 , I still haven't thought of a plan and number 3, it's plain impossible to bet on it in the first place."

"Oh, I see. Wag ka namang cold sa akin! Erase the number 1."

I kept quiet, of course hindi ko alam ang response, he is just a stranger.

"I guess you are a great person after all."

much to my surprise, napalingon ako sakanya, I never saw that coming.

"And why is that?"

"Holon wants to kidnap you for some reason, I don't know, guess it's because of your High Intellect."

Quiet...................

"Oh, I see."

I think he may not be a bad person after all.

 "I want you to do something for me."

"Okay?"

"Train me."

This is getting creepy, inakyat ko agad si Baby Boy sa Train, at hinintay ko pa saglit si Marlon.

"Sino ba ito?" tanung ni Karl. Ugh, kontrabida as always.

"Anak natin! Get him inside go!" alam kong napakaawkward na magsabi ng mga ganun sa present situation, hindi kasi tugma pero kiber kiber lang. Err..

"Anu ba nangyari?" tanung ko kay Marlon.

"The incident on the bridge will happen again."

Oh, again. -_________________- Nakakasawa ha. Binunot ko na yung composite bow, at umakyat na kami. Choices are to hold it off or to escape it. The latter is chosen, since may isang malaking wave ng zoombies ang papalapait. At I think I should shrug it off, kaya umakyat na kami ni Marlon sa train.

Sakto naman din sa pagakyat namin ang pagistart, lucky. So umupo nalang ako. Mejo nakahinga hinga na din ako nang maluwag, okay na sana pero biglang nabasag yung isang set ng bintana na may kalayuan sa amin, at the same time yumugyog ang buong train which made it to an emergency stop, when I looked outside, oh there it  is again. Executioner, pero bukod pa yung humahabol ahh, so bali may isa pa so which means two, pero hindi malabong maging 3 or 4 pa yan, ahhh!!! Whatever. All that matters for now is how are we gonna deal with this freaks, nakaramdam ako ng panginginig pero hindi galing sa akin, galing kay baby boy.

"Shh, tahan na tahan na, it will be alright, don't be scared na." yeah I know I lied slightly but it helped a little bit. I'm sorry pati ako hindi ko na alam ang gagawin ko ngayon ehh, gusto ko ako na mismo ang lumabas pero, hindi ko naman ito pwedeng iwan. We need fast thinking.

Nakita ko na may binitbit si Marlon na isang sakong........... weapons??

"I need to deal with this, paandarin niyo ulit ang train pagkalabas ko."

"What the hell are you thinking?!"

"Well, I was thinking that in order to save many you got to kill few, and besides, may bata ka pang patatahanin."

Yeah he's right, I am so dumb all this time. Hindi na ako nakapagsalita, I just let him have his way.

"Oh, and by the way, it's certain that I won't survive. So don't come back looking for me, and also, I am not a hero, so don't thank me."

Napakaemo naman neto! Then go die on your own, pero seriously?! You still have the guts to say that after saving my life, you're not a hero? Shame on you! I hate this guy already! I thought magkakasundo kami but. Ugh! Pero the moment na lumabas siya there's still something para pigilan ko siya pero in any case I didn't......

and the train started moving again.
