"𝓖andhi. what'd he do?" mr. matthews asked his class. "freed ireland." maya blurts out. "try again." frankie opened her mouth to answer since farkle wasn't here to yell the right answers.
"freed ireland." the blonde says again. cory looks over at frankie for help, "he freed india."
"before or after he freed ireland." the redhead rolled her eyes. "when are you going to grow up?" maya turned around to her old best friend in disbelief. "what?"
"jackie robinson. whar'd he do?" he asked his class yet another easy question. "first guy to play in the major leagues after gandhi freed 'em," billy answers, causing frankie to roll her eyes again. "i--2 i quit."
"but you can't quit, sir!" farkle yells. "and you need to be in my class, farkle. how long are you gonna be out sick?" cory asks, irritated. "don't know." he fakes coughs. "pretty bad cold, sir."
"okay. feel better." mr. matthews points at a picture on the chalkboard. "what about her?"
"that's malala. the taliban doesn't think that women should be educated. she stood up to them and became the first teenager ever to be nominated for a nobel peace prize." riley answers correctly.
"sometimes the world presents you with opportunities to show who you really are. will you have the courage to stand up to someone who tries to take your spirit away?" frankie thought about what he said, and he was right. "i have something i need to do right now if you don't mind."
"may i ask why?" the teacher asks his student. "i'll let you know later."
frankie made her way over to the janitor's room bargining in and seeing farkle and janitor harley. "farkle, we miss you. and as you can see we desperately need you. i don't want you to let anyone crush your spirit."
"my spirit's fine. i just don't want to be me anymore." frankie frowned as she stared at her best friend. "why because of what that jerk said to you?" he didn't answer.
"you can have these, janitor harley." farkle picks up his turtlenecks. "i'm done with turtlenecks."
"aw, jeez. thanks, kid. they won't fit me. oh, it's a good thing-- they're horrible." frankie gave him a look, "be nice."
"farkle you can't give away something you love because this isn't you, and i don't like it." farkle stared into his best friend's eyes trying not to cry. "he said i was the biggest nothing in this school."
"what?"
"he said i had no right to walk around acting all confident and pretending like people liked me. he said i had no right to have friends like you because i was the biggest nothing in this school." frankie pulls farkle into a tight hug. "i am so sorry you had to hear that. he had no right to talk to you that way, he is wrong and doesn't deserve the time you're giving him."
