𝒊. this fanfic is set in a modern alternate universe where there is no bending, nor are there any of the in-universe creatures, such as flying bisons, etc. 𝒊𝒊. all the nations, however, are the same. the same names, same rulers, etc. for plot purposes the fire nation never attacked the air temples. 𝒊𝒊𝒊. the fire nationis a monarchy, currently ruled by fire lord ozai. 𝒊𝒗. the northern and southern water tribes each function as their own independent state, each ruled by a chieftain that is voted into authority — the southern water tribe specifically is ruled by chief hakoda akerelrea. 𝒗. the earth kingdom is technically ruled by the earth king in its capital, ba sing se, but due to the country's size, power depends from region to region. 𝒗𝒊. the air nomads are one singular state, though operate from their own air temples. each air temple sends out a diplomatic envoy to the nation— the current diplomatic envoy from the southern air temple is monk gyatso, often appearing with his ward and protégé, aang. 𝒗𝒊𝒊. modern social media platforms, such as instagram, twitter, etc., will be utilized for convenience. also some celebrities just exist here okay! i needed to put the olivia rodrigo reference in aang's bio or i was going 2 keel over and die. okay thx
