Chapter 9; The walk in the streets——

Kazuha kissed Scara goodbye on the cheek. He wouldn't be home for the entire night because he needed to spend time with the wind and have alone time with the forest far away.

"I'll be back by tomorrow morning so I expect lots of breakfast, Scara," Kazuha smiled, cupping Scara by the cheeks as Scara held Kazuha by the waist, letting them go as Kazuha turned to walk into the distance. Scara smiled, and waved at Kazuha as he waved back.

The cold breeze made the mountains look old as the snow gives it a very mature look. It looked funny, but it was inconvenient. Kazuha sighed, having to choose another spot to meditate. He put his samurai hat on and walked far to a rural place where he met a shrine with fox statues next to it.
What could an Inazuman statue be doing here?

He read the words carved on the stone, "The Fox who was quick and nimble to charge the unworthy and haunt it for the rest of its life. The Fox stands before you as the protector of the village."

Kazuha stood on a rock in front of it and sat crossed leg to slowly close his eyes and focus on his surroundings. He didn't know if such carvings would be true, but as he meditated, the ghosts grew closer with him. The sky turned dark and Kazuha could feel the howls of the spirits, it sounded as if they circled around Kazuha, bringing him to a deep concentration.

"You sure this is the right place?" A familiar voice from afar got Kazuha interrupted from his meditation and the feeling of the chilling spirits drifted away from the voice.

"Who the hell is out here right now..?" Kazuha whispered, but closed his eyes back to continue.

"This is giving me the creeps. Karie, you sure we'll find the ghosts?" Another familiar voice echoed by.

"Hey, look Derien, what's this path? It looks so old and corrupted?" The first familiar voice changed their paths.

"Come on now, Karie, we don't need to search for ghosts anymore. Let's go home." The so-called Derien guy dragged the so-called Karie away from the path.

"Look, it reads, 'shrine of the fox,' there's totally ghosts in here!" Karie jumped and pulled Derien with her.

Kazuha felt the footstep come closer and closer. He knew who they were, they were his classmates, from his Science and Art class. These cringe couples would be making out behind the teachers back and calling each other pumpkin pudding and cherry chip cookies.
Ew.
Him and Scara have been saner couples for three years, but thinking about Scara made Kazuha also chuckle at his nickname given by Heizou. "Hehe, Kazu-cutie," Kazuha chuckled to himself.

"Derien, did you hear that? I thought I heard giggling!" Karie hid behind Derien.

"Karie, I knew we should leave, this place doesn't look right," Derien grabbed Katie's hand.

"Derien, if you're going to be a wimp one more time, I will run off and leave you here. I'm just making you be a little bit adventurous for once. You're so stuck to Mario cart everyday it sickens me," Karie slapped off Derien's arm, "You can go off and be gay with your little Mario-loving friends and make out with each other's hotdogs."

"Hey, you're really comparing me to those weird kawaii boys in our class? They literally cuddle like it's the end of their life," Derien whispered loudly.

"You airhole, you're spitting in my face. Though you're right. I've noticed there was something up with those two boys... uhh what was their names.. Xuha and Scar?"

Kazuha couldn't believe what he was hearing. But he wasn't surprised. Couple like these would argue, make up, talk shit, get drunk, and then on goes the cycle. Then he thought of an idea. He wanted to let his ghost friends stray the couple away.

"Oh and that Heizou dude, he's been awfully losing his popularity too," Karie's words popped sassily like her lips.

"So you don't like him anymore?"

"When did I say I liked him? I'm so turned off with his downgrade to a heavy Japan loving twin-" (not offending Japanese culture, I love their fashion!! But Karie doesn't).

"KARIE SHH SHHH SHHHH!" Derien shushed Karie, hearing suspicious sounds in the wind.

The wind grew louder and the ghosts pulled the air. The white strings on Kazuha's clothes flew against his skin, making him appear as a spirit. With ruffles in his pocket, Kazuha pulled out a very long and sturdy leaf. Bringing them to his lips, he whistled an eerie tune. "You dare say such offence upon the Inazuman Shrine?" Kazuha's voice lowered as if he were one with the wind.

He brought the leaf to his lips and whistled a very familiar sound from his home country. It was special tunes from Ekanomiya. Hearing it the first time shivered through Kazuha's thick bones, enticing him to learn the music piece.

"NO, NO, PLEASE. SPARE ME. SPARE MY LIFE FOR TRESPASSING INTO YOUR GROUNDS AND SPEAKING SUCH NONSENSE TO YOUR FACE!!" Derien fell to his knees and bowed to the voice. He visibly shook.
Then the voices in the wind came up to him and whispered to his ear, telling him, "leave..."

"Derien you son of a wh- you're supposed to bow to me, not some pathetic ghost!" Karie stomped the ground at Derien pathetically begging his life to be spared.
But Karie noticed something off with Derien. He was shaking and he didn't even have a huge fear of ghosts, mostly monsters, but ghosts weren't his top 5.

Kazuha smiled.

"You, Karie. You came all this way from your city far away to face this. Would be a shame if you couldn't go back where home would be just right around the corner..." Kazuha stood up from the rock and looked back at the couple, the two of them now begging on their knees.

The ghosts behind him swirled vigorously and produced a strong wind in the shape of a fox. "Please Japan spirit, I wouldn't want to live close to your shrine, ever!" Katie shouted and her head bowed further to the floor. The wind was uncontrollable and it charged like a fox to draw Karie and Derien away from the path. They were both blown away. Their screams haunted in their heads and The Fox swarmed their lives forever.

Kazuha watched and laughed menacingly. Finally the wind hushed and Kazuha looked back at the shrine. He bowed to it, "thank you, old friend."

Kazuha walked back, having an awesome adventure with nature. He was excited to tell his story to both Heizou and Scara when he came back to school. Maybe even have to reveal some of the rumours he's heard.

(Funny thing about making this chapter was that I finished Avatar: the last airbender cartoon and Mean Girls. So this chapter is a random mix of both)
