Me and Damon had stayed at the boarding house last night after our emotional night. I explained to Elijah and Klaus what had happened so they both said goodnight and left me and Damon to our grief, alright we spent most of that drunk but honestly being able to say a proper goodbye to Ric gave me some closure I didn't think I'd ever get. But as the morning drew on we both knew we needed to get on with the day, so with that in mind we were both heading out of the door to come face to face with Stefan fixing up a motorbike.
"Good day for a midlife crisis. 164 years, I'd say your due" I rolled my eyes and gently slapped Damon's chest. He looked down at me in mock hurt before slinging his arm around my shoulder.
"Elena's transition into a vampire has been a little depressing. I'm going to help her have some fun" Stefan sat on his bike as he watched me, and Damon interact.
"Oh, those who can't do, teach" I subtly elbowed Damon in the side and whispered to him to knock it off. Damon turned to me and gave me a kiss, saying goodbye as I walked to my car. I was going to spend the day with Klaus, however I needed to meet him at Tyler Lockwood's house so that is where I am off to. I dove the car in silence, my head was still processing saying goodbye to Ric, and with everything else going on I feel like I couldn't catch my breath. I let out a sigh as I realised I'd arrived at the Lockwood's, and I climbed out of my car.
"Hello sweetheart" I smiled at Klaus taking his outstretched hand in mine as we walked into the house just in time to hear Tyler's conversation with his mum.
"More deputies?" was what I heard when me and Klaus walked into the room.
"Not exactly" Tyler looked us at us, slightly startled by our presence.
"They're hybrids" I smiled in sympathy at Tyler, must be annoying having to be put on house arrest. Alright it's for his own protection but it's annoying, nonetheless.
"I was getting ready to head to Chicago with my girl and her soulmates when I heard you were attacked. I was hoping to leave Mystic Falls for good, but duty calls" I gently nudged Klaus's shoulder, silently telling him not to be an arse about this.
"Nice to know you care" Tyler's tone was bitter and sarcastic but again, I couldn't really blame him, so I stayed quiet.
"I don't. I should have killed you for the little stunt you and your friends pulled. Stopping my heart, leaving me in a coffin to rot" I narrowed my eyes at Tyler, which the boy noticed. It was no secret that I was livid with them all for doing that to my soulmate.
"Yeah well you used my body as an escape hatch and then kissed my girlfriend. So, maybe we're even" it was my turn to scoff before I stood up and took my place next to Klaus before addressing Tyler.
"Not even close. But you hybrids are a dying breed. Nik cant make anymore of you, and he won't have anyone taking liberties with the ones he has left. Oh and FYI Caroline kissed him not the other way round" I flashed him a sarcastic smile before pulling Klaus towards the exit, "consider them you new bodyguards" I said a quick goodbye to Carol as me and Klaus left. Just then I got a very cryptic text off Damon, furrowing my brows I showed Klaus who told me to go. Kissing him quickly I jumped into my car and headed to the location that Damon had asked me to come to. Pulling up I looked at the trailer before walking through the door and seeing Damon with an arrow through his back.
"What's with the cryptic text?" I stayed by the door as space was already scarce due to it being a small trailer.
"Come in and close the door" I let the door shut gently behind me when my eyes landed on what the arrow was attached to.
"Damon please tell me that's not a bomb" I glanced quickly at my soulmate who only smiled at me.
"Okay it's a kitten. A cute, adorable, exploding kitten" I started freaking out a little, that bomb could wipe us both out.
