After leaving the stadium, she walks northward, pulling her scarf over her muzzle to keep it warm. She walks up to a house that is a little outside the magical barrier the Crystal Empire has in place so the raging snowstorms don't penetrate it. She knocks on the door.
"Glitter Drops? Are you home?" Tempest shouts through her scarf at the door.
The door opens, and a sea green unicorn mare with light blue, curly hair stands on the other side, a smile spread across her face.
"Fizzy!" Glitter Drops welcomes Tempest with a small hug. "What a surprise! Come on in! It's so good to see you again!"
"It's good to see you, too." Tempest walks in after Glitter Drops and shuts the door. Inside her cottage, it was warm from the lit hearth in the living room. Tempest takes a seat in one of the chairs, and a kitten jumps into Tempest's lap. Across from where Tempest was, Glitter Drops was in the kitchen taking down a couple mugs and some hot chocolate mix for both of them.
"What are you doing in the Crystal Empire?" Glitter Drops asked.
"I'm here to train to be Princess Twilight's Royal Guard Captain." Tempest stated while stroking the back of the kitten as it curls into a ball.
Glitter Drops has a kettle of water on her stove. "Really? Aw, that's amazing! Congratulations! So, what's been going on? I heard about your trial."
"Yeah. Two years of community service isn't that big of a sentence." Tempest's ears lower a little. "I was, honestly, expecting worse. Much worse."
"The princesses would never give such a strong sentence, unless they were purely evil."
The kettle on the stove started whistling, so Glitter Drops put out the fire under her stove and poured the water into the mugs. "Like Tirek, for example. He wanted to steal all the magic just for his own benefit and power." She levitates two spoons into each mug and stirs them simultaneously.
"But I did the same thing!" Tempest retorted.
"You did that so you could get your horn back." Glitter Drops added marshmallows into the hot chocolate. "You still know deep down that it was wrong, right?"
"Yeah." Tempest laughs a little. "Now you sound like Princess Twilight!"
Glitter Drops turns to face Tempest. "How were your travels?"
"They were good. Not much except going around Equestria and beyond and helping towns and cities clean up from the Storm King." Tempest pauses for a second. "I was fortunate to be in Hippogriffia when Queen Chrysalis attacked. How bad was it up here? Did anyone get hurt?"
"Not severely, but it was pretty bad." Glitter Drops admitted. She picked up the hot chocolate filled mugs and walked over to Tempest. "I mean, we've been attacked by Changelings before, but nothing like this. Fortunately, they didn't come this far north. Hot cocoa?"
Glitter Drops gave Tempest her hot chocolate, who takes it in her aura and takes a sip from it. "I'm sorry you had to go through that."
Glitter Drops takes her own seat on a chair facing Tempest. "It's okay. Everything turned out well. Like I said last time you came, Equestria, including the Crystal Empire, is a hotspot for bad guys. Since we're such a powerful country and all." She takes a sip of her hot chocolate that she'd been hovering with her magic this whole time.
"Yeah, I guess." Tempest takes another sip. "Anyways.... I'm living with Twilight in her castle now."
Glitter Drops' jaw dropped slightly. "You are? Wow! I can't imagine living in a castle!"
