At around 3 o'clock that same day, Starlight went back to the library to check on Twilight. She was still sitting at her desk, mane even more frazzled, her magic sweeping pages of a book by on her desk. Twilight was resting her face in her hooves as she turned the pages and skimmed the headlines.
"No, no, no, NO!" Twilight's voice echoed throughout the room, "There's nothing in this library that's a good solution!" She tossed the book to her left and laid her face on the table in frustration. The book hit a shelf on the opposite side of the room, and as it fell to the ground, a few other books followed suit. Twilight didn't even flinch.
Good heavens, she must really be out of it. Starlight thought. "Hey, Twilight." She approached the purple alicorn from behind.
Twilight raised her head and met her gaze with a tired, frustrated, and almost distraught expression.
"I just wrote a letter to the princesses explaining what's been going on for the past couple days." Starlight continued.
"Did you include my decision on the trial date?" Twilight muttered.
"I did." Starlight nodded respectfully.
"Go ahead and send it, then." Twilight turned back around to face her desk.
"Okay." Starlight teleported the scroll she had written a few minutes earlier to her side, and sent it off to the princesses. As she sent it off, Twilight laid back in her seat with her head facing the ceiling as she let out a sigh. "No turning back now." She heard the princess of friendship whisper.
"Oh!" Starlight exclaimed, "I got in touch with your friends today, too. They're coming over right after school's done. Tempest will meet up with them and escort them in."
As she was speaking, Twilight had lifted her head off the top of the chair, turned it around, and her eyes widened and tears started to form in her eyes as she realized she wasn't alone. "Oh, thank goodness. Thank you, Starlight!"
Twilight got off her chair and embraced Starlight tightly and cried into her shoulder. Starlight returned the embrace and held onto her mentor as she weeped.
"Of course, Twilight." Starlight replied, We'll get through this together."
She heard Twilight let out a shaky breath and whisper, "Together."
Meanwhile, Tempest was in her room reading a book when she looked at the time. Her clock read 3:15. School must be out by now, Tempest throught. She got up from bed, exited her room, and made her way to the entrance of the castle. As soon as she got there, she heard a knock coming from the door.
Tempest opened the door to Twilight's friends. They all looked concerned.
"Thank you all for coming." Tempest greeted the 5 mares.
"Of course, darling." Rarity chimed.
"We came as soon as we could." Applejack said.
"How bad is it?" Rainbow Dash flew into the castle abruptly.
"It's gotten pretty bad." Tempest admitted. "She really needs you guys."
"Come on, y'all!" Applejack raced through the door, the others quickly followed in pursuit. Tempest galloped to catch up to them.
When they all reached the library, the doors were open, and everyone saw Starlight holding Twilight in an embrace. Twilight's face was buried into her shoulder, and Tempest couldn't help but feel jealous. She wanted to be the one holding the struggling princess.
