The sun is setting over Ponyville. Tempest, Twilight, and Starlight were entering Twilight's castle.

"I'm turning in." Starlight headed up the stairs.

"Goodnight, Starlight." Twilight waved as the light purple princess turned. Twilight then started for the stairs when Tempest caught her attention.

"Hey, Twilight?" Tempest asked.

"Yes, Tempest?" Twilight turned to her.

"..... Have you found anything out?" Tempest prodded.

Twilight sighed. "I'm sorry, Tempest. They haven't found anything."

"No traces? At all?" Tempest couldn't believe that. They've been searching for her parents for the past two weeks. "Are you sure?"

"I'm certain." Twilight said, "Like I said last time you asked, they got to your village and the address you gave me was already occupied by someone else."

"Where could they have possibly gone?" Tempest pondered.

"I'm so sorry they can't find anything, Tempest." Twilight consoled.

Tempest sighed. "It's fine. I just.... I want to see them again." Tempest's gaze fell to the floor. She thought for a moment before looking back up again. "Are you doing okay?"

Twilight met her gaze. "As well as I can be. I just......" Twilight sighed again, "I don't know." Twilight's eyes were shining, now.

Tempest placed a hoof on Twilight's shoulder. "I'm worried about him, too, Twilight."

The purple princess broke down in tears. "I.. I don't want to lose him."

Tempest turned to face her and wrapped her hooves around her. "I know."

Twilight sat down on the floor and embraced Tempest, sobbing into her chest. Tempest rested her head on top of Twilight's and rubbed her back to help her calm down. After a few moments, she heard her cries soften, and Twilight sat up and wiped the tears from her eyes.

"Thanks, Tempest." Twilight croaked as she cleared her throat.

"Of course. Anything for you." Tempest leaned down and gave Twilight a kiss on her forehead. Twilight's cheeks flushed red in response.

"Awwww, Tempest." Twilight smiled.

Tempest laughs a little. "What is it, Princess?"

Twilight tried to hide in her mane from embarrassment, which made Tempest laugh even more. "Nothing." She muttered.

"What is it?" Tempest teased.

"No, it's really nothing."

"Come on, what is it?" Tempest brought Twilight closer to her when she had tried to escape.

"No, it's not important!" Twilight was giggling at this point, still trying to push her way out of Tempest's arms.

"I'm sure it is important!" Tempest giggled also, "What is it?"

Twilight stopped resisting, still laughing. "Okay, okay, fine! I actually have a question for you."

"Oh?" Tempest raised an eyebrow playfully, "What is it, Princess?"

"Stop calling me that!" Twilight shouted, still laughing a little bit.

Tempest laughed. "Sorry, can't help it. I love teasing you."

Twilight smiled to herself. "Well, I was wondering if...... uh, you would like to..... come with me to the Grand Galloping Gala?"

While Twilight was talking, she levitated two Gala tickets from her saddlebag over in front of Tempest's face. Tempest could feel her face going red.

"....really?" Tempest asked.

"I mean.... Yeah." Twilight smiled at Tempest.

"Like a..... a date?" Tempest's eyes widened.

Twilight laughed a little. "What else would it be?"

Tempest smiled. "Okay."

Twilight's eyes lit up like a thousand stars. "Really?!"

"Yeah." Tempest confirmed, "I'm not really into dresses and stuff, but for you, I'll do this."

Twilight squealed and hugged Tempest tightly, catching her off guard.

"I can't wait!"

Tempest hugged back. "Me neither." Both mares stood up and smiled at each other. They said their goodnights, Tempest took her ticket from Twilight, and headed to her room. She stared at it happily.

Maybe by then I'll have the courage to call you mine, my Shining Star.
