A beautiful music box sat on a table playing soft and gentle music. Eventually it closed and a woman picked it up and put it in her purse before exiting the room.

She made her way outside and into a very fancy carriage that carried her down the street.

"There was a time, not very long ago, when we lived in an enchanted world of elegant palaces, and grand parties."

The carriage pulled inside a grand magnificent gate, that led to a huge, beautiful palace.

"The year was 1916. And my son in law, Charles, was the Czar of Imperial Russia."

Inside the Palace, a large party was taking place. There were dozens of guests on the dance floor, and everyone was dressed in elegant clothing. In the very front, a young girl was dancing with her father. Another young girl was already climbing the stairs towards Janet.

"We were celebrating the 300th anniversary of our family's rule."

The little girl who was dancing playfully stuck her tongue out as she danced. Eventually, she broke away from her father and climbed up the stairs, following the other little girl.

"And that night, no star burned brighter than that of our sweet Kerrigan and Kathryn. My youngest and only granddaughters."

Kerrigan rushed up as Kathryn handed Janet her drawing. Behind Janet, a young boy named Varian was looking at them, with another boy following close behind him.

He was his brother Hiro (A/N: Tadashi is currently not in this book so go with it please) they had wanted to see the party and Varian managed to sneak them both out so they could.

"Varian! Look!" Hiro whispered and pointed at all the beautiful decorations and the people dressed in fancy outfits.

"It's all so cool!" He gasped bouncing on his toes excitedly. "I wish we could be a prince's."

Varian laughed at his silly behavior. "Don't worry Hiro. We will be prince's one day."

"Really?! You think so?" He asked, his eyes growing wide.

"Of course I do." He smiled,

Kerrigan looked over her grandmother's shoulder and noticed the young boys. She had seen them around the Palace a few times, and always thought about asking them to play with her and her sister, but they always seemed to disappear when she tried to get close to them.

Varian's eyes landed on hers and Kerrigan let out a small gasp, Varian however, was afraid he and Hiro would be in trouble for being in here. Instead, Kerrigan smiled at him and waved. Varian blushed and smiled back.

"Kerrigan and Kathryn would beg me to not return to Paris. So I had a very special gift made for them. To make the separation easier for the three of us."

Janet pulled out the small music box and held it out for them.

"For us?" Kerrigan asked in shock, and with a smile Kathryn took the small music box in her small hands. "Is it a jewelry box?"

Suddenly, a butler spotted Varian and Hiro.

"What are you boys doing here?! You two belong in the kitchen!" He grabbed Varian and Hiro by their wrists and started dragging them away.

"Hey, let go! Don't touch us!" Varian yelled.

Kerrigan looked over and frowned as she watched the boys go. She was hoping to maybe ask the boy with the teal stripe (Varian) to dance.

"Look." Janet told her, bringing Kerrigan's attention back to her.

Kerrigan took a necklace and used it to wind up the music box. The box opened and a dancing couple lifted up and spun in a circle while a song played.
