(A/N: I am skipping the fight between Anastasia and Dimitri aka Varian, Kerrigan and Kathryn for this scene cause we had no idea how it would play out since Kathryn's love interest is Hiro so yeh...)

Varian and Hiro stood outside of the theater leaning against a pillar. He regretted lying to Kerrigan and Kathryn especially Kerrigan. He even made her cry. He should've just told her the truth from the beginning.

He turned his head and noticed the Empress coming down the stairs of the theater, he nodded towards Hiro and they started walking towards her car. Her driver opened her door and bowed as she entered it. Hiro shoved the driver out of the way and got in the front passenger seat.

On the other side, Varian hopped into the driver's seat and sped off down the road. He turned a sharp corner and the Empress nearly fell over.

"Ilya, slow down! And who is this?!" She demanded.

Hiro turned to face her. "He's not Ilya and he won't slow down. Not until you listen."

The Empress gasped. "You two! How dare you. Stop this car immediately! Stop. This. Car!"

Varian ignored her demands and continued to speed down the road. He dodged other cars and twisted and turned until he pulled up in front of a house.

He got out of the car and opened the Empress's door. "You have to talk to them." He said firmly.

The Empress turned away from him.

"Just look at them! Please!"

"I won't be badgered by you a moment longer." She declared.

Varian pulled out the music box and handed it to her. "Do you recognize this?"

She looked at it, shocked. "Where did you get this?"

"I know you've been hurt. But it's possible that they have been just as lost and alone as you." Hiro said softly.

She looked at them both. "You'll stop at nothing will you?"

"He's probably about as stubborn as you are.

Upstairs, Kerrigan was packing the suitcase while Kathryn sat on the bed looking sad and heartbroken.

"Are you alright?" Kerrigan asked her.

"No I'm not..." She lifted her to look up at her older sister. "We came all this way for nothing. We wasted so much time following those two, when we could have been looking for our real family."

Kerrigan sighed in agreement.

"Kat I know your hurt... And we may not have found our family... But at least we had our chance..."

Kathryn couldn't stop the tears falling from her eyes.

"Oh Kat..."

Kerrigan quickly embraced her sister and rubbed her back.

"It's gonna be okay... We're here now... So we still have a chance..."

Suddenly There was a loud knock on the door

Kerrigan jumped and pulled away from Kathryn, tensing up and standing in front of her protectively. Her brow furrowing with anger

"Go away Varian and take Hiro with you!" She growled at the door.

The door opened anyway and the Empress stepped into the room. Kerrigan gasped and Kathryn immediately stood up.

Kerrigan quickly sputtered out an apology. "Oh, I-I'm so sorry... I-I thought... We thought you were..."

"I know very well who you thought I was. But who exactly are you two?" She asked.

"Well... We were hoping you could tell us that." Kerrigan lowered her head.

"My dear's, I am old. And I'm tired of being conned and tricked."

"We don't want to trick you." Kathryn told her honestly.

"And I suppose the money doesn't interest you either?" She asked skeptically.

"We just want to know who we are. Whether or not we belong to a family. Your family." Kerrigan told her.

"You're both very good actresses. Best yet, in fact. But... I've had enough." She went to leave the room, and as she passed him, Kerrigan caught a whiff of something.

"Vanilla?" She asked.

"Yes, an oil for my hands."

"Yes... We spilled a bottle... The carpet was soaked, and it forever smelled of Vanilla, like you."

Kerrigan and Kathryn giggled in unison, the Empress sat on a bench and listened to her.

"We used to lie there on that rug, and think about how we missed you when you were away. When you came here... To Paris..."

The Empress gestured for them to sit next to her and as they did, she noticed something around their necks.

She gestured to his necklace. "What are those...?"

(A/N: NO MEME IMPLIED PLEASE DONT SAY ANYTHING!)

Kathryn grabbed at her necklace. "This? Oh, we've always had them, ever since before we can remember." She explained.

"May I?" The Empress asked.

Kerrigan took her necklace off and handed it to Empress. The Empress studied it and placed a hand on her chest.

"It was our secret. My granddaughter's and mine." She reached into her purse and pulled out the music box.

Kathryn gasped. "The music box." Kerrigan took it in her hands. "To-... To put us to sleep while you were in Paris."

Kerrigan took her necklace back and started humming as she placed it into a slot and turned it.

Both Girls: "Hear this song and remember."

The Empress's eyes widened and became teary.

All three of them: "Soon you'll be... Home with me... Once Upon a December..."

"Oh, Kerrigan, Kathryn. My Darling's!" She exclaimed and embraced both of the girls in a tight hug.
