This is just a shot at a Christmas AU. It focuses on Win, his daughter Tess, his mom Lita, and an old classmate Bright. Win and his daughter just finished going through a divorce and custody battle. Win and his mom have been rocky at best for the last 15 years because Lita didn't agree with Win's decision to marry his now ex-wife. Win and Bright are on a rocky road of past misunderstandings and trying to navigate their past notions and current feelings as Win is torn between focusing on what is best for his daughter's future while trying not to fall hard and fast for Bright's friendly demeanor despite the fact that Win had known him to be a judgmental jerk back in high school.
The backdrop of the story takes place from late November until New Year's. Holiday parties and events continue to throw the group together filling them with warmth and making them confront the demons that kept them separated for so long.
There are parts of this that are cheesy, parts that are romantic, parts of this that are smutty (Shocking, right?) and some of it is sad, because it wasn't a nice divorce and there was some cruel things that went down and some trauma. I tried to make it emotionally blue in the beginning with some funny elements and then slowly warm it up as the story progresses and they get deeper into the holiday season while the get deeper into re-building their relationships and uncovering several misunderstandings from the past.
This is my first holiday AU and I'm not about to claim this is my best work. It's a little bit of Hope Floats meets Hallmark Christmas cheesiness. I hope you all enjoy it!

The story centers on Win who is a retired entertainer. He is recently divorced from a ten-year marriage and has sole custody of their daughter, Tess. He is going home for the first time in ten years after the divorce and custody battle to get his daughter away from the media storm that surrounded his and his now ex-wife's divorce.
