Win practically skipped down the stairs on the day of the Christmas Parade. They were going early to the parade so his mom could do some last-minute touches before it started in the afternoon. The parade would lead into the Town Square Tree Lighting Ceremony that was set for the early evening. They would watch the parade and then Win would head over to the platform for the ceremony and work with Gun to prepare for the show. His set was scheduled to play before they officially lit the town square Christmas tree.
Win was excited to perform again. It had been a while since he'd been on stage and he'd always loved to perform. In school, he had always been one of the main players of the performance arts and even in high school, his popularity as the performing arts' leading heartthrob had earned him the crown of prom king. Even in the entertainment industry, he had loved the stage, loved performing for people and making them happy and jump around and sing along. It had given him life, and he was excited to get to do it again. He still had no desire to go back to this full time, but getting to do it once in a while was kind of nice. He hadn't performed for an audience in over 7 years.
Tess, Lita, and Bright were already in the kitchen when Win came in like a warm breeze on a spring day, full of smiles and a bounce to his step. He leaned in and gave Tess a morning kiss on the cheek, "Good morning, little bug," and then squeezed his mom and gave her a kiss on the cheek, "Good morning, my beautiful mom," earning a giggle out of his mom, before heading toward the sink to get a glass of water.
Bright pouted. "I feel left out."
Everyone was expecting Win to ignore Bright's comment or treat it as a joke, so it was a huge shock when Win didn't skip a beat and went to stand behind Bright. He threw his arms over Bright's shoulders and leaned down to give him a loud smooch on the cheek and ruffled his hair. "Good morning, Bambi eyes," he said sweetly, before sitting down to eat.
Bright sat a little dazed for a moment before Tess broke through his stupor. "Uncle Bright, Daddy turned you red!"
Win looked at Bright and gave him a dazzling smile. He gave a shy chuckle when Bright shook his head. "Your daddy has that effect on people," he said, shaking off the butterflies Win had just set off in his stomach.
Win gave Bright another smirk before Lita started talking. "It's been so long since I've seen you like this. You were always so happy and bouncy on days you had performances. So full of life."
Tess lit up. "I'm so excited to see you on stage for real, Daddy. I've only ever seen videos of you performing, but Uncle Tay said seeing you sing on stage in real life was like watching the sun blaze. Is Uncle Tay and Uncle New going to be there?"
Win shook his head. "No, Uncle Tay is still sick, so he is sending Uncle Gun instead."
Tess nodded. "And Uncle Off?
Win shook his head. "No, Uncle Off is in Japan doing a headliner concert right now."
Tess looked thoughtfully. "So, if Uncle Gun is there does that mean Uncle Gus will be there, too?"
