Bright and Win were fast asleep when Win's phone started ringing, pulling him out of his slumber with an aggravated sigh. His phone was on Bright's side of the bed and he had to reach over him to get his phone, earning an exasperated grumble before Bright rolled to his side trying to fight against the forces trying to wake him up. Win grabbed his phone and got out of bed.
Bright got up soon after that and went in search of Win. He found him sitting on a rocking chair with a cup of coffee in his hand and wrapped in a fleece blanket. He was staring out the window, lost in thought. Bright loved these moments. The sight of Win curled up in his home like he'd been there forever. He was comfortable and belonged there. It was these moments that filled Bright's heart to the brim.
"Good morning, beautiful," Bright said, leaning down and giving Win a kiss on the cheek and ruffling his hair.
Win smiled. "Good morning, Teerak. The coffee pot should still be warm," he said.
Bright nodded and headed towards the kitchen for a cup when Win got up and followed him with a pensive expression on his face. Bright bit on his lower lip, trying to pretend that he wasn't feeling the strange tension coming off of Win. "Who was on the phone this morning?" he asked, trying to find what had Win so off this morning.
"It was a performance arts facility in the city. They want me to come for a couple of days to discuss a possible teaching position there. It's an elite facility, only the best go there, and a lot of veteran actors go and give classes there as well, so students can learn about the business from people who are in the business. I didn't even think I was qualified to apply, but yet they reached out to me and wanted to discuss me teaching there," he said.
Bright trembled. It was the reality call that Bright had forgotten would eventually come. Win did not live here and had at no point made any decisions one way or another. Win was still searching for the best solution for Tess and it shook Bright to remember that final destination for Win and Tess may not be here with Bright and Lita. Bright and Win being in a relationship had never come with a promise of Win deciding to stay here. Win technically didn't live here and although Bright had hoped he would stay, it sounded as though that may not actually be the case. "So, you are going back to the city?" he asked, trying to keep his voice light.
Win nodded. "For a couple of days. I was looking at taking an evening flight out today. I would stay for a day or two and be back by Christmas Eve," he said, searching Bright's face for his reaction to the news.
Bright nodded. "Are you going to take the job?"
Win sat down. "I don't know. The entertainment industry is all I know. I left school too soon to learn anything else besides performing. When I retired, I became a trainer. I gave acting lessons, I was a model consultant, and I was a voice coach. There were even times when I stepped in and helped Tay with managing events for artists if I had the time. When I couldn't perform anymore, I taught others how. So being offered a performance arts position in one of the most prestigious and elite facilities in the world is the kind of position that I can't just ignore. It would be highly disrespectful if I didn't go to at least hear what they have to say, but I won't make any decisions until you and I discuss it. It's worth it to me to hear what they have to say, but it's not worth it to me to take it if it means it will be a deal breaker for us, Bright."
