She was born on a warm day in October, well she was a he at the time however that changes later on.
Nicholas was a healthy Humbolt Squid inkling with very sharp yellow eyes.He grew up really fast to. He was only child who lived with his mother, his father having left her.
He was very happy. His mother, Katrina, was very loving and was proud of whatever he did.
"Mom! Mom! I wanna do ballet!" He told her, holding up a scribbled drawing of him on a stage in a tutu.
"Really? Most boys your age want to play soccer or football...." She hummed looking at his drawing.
"No! Ballet!" He said.
"Okay sweetie! Okay! I'll schedule you some classes soon!" She giggled picking up her phone to find classes for him.
"Yayyyyy!!" He squealed running around the living room cheerfully.
He quickly got into ballet, making a lot of friends with the girls in his class.
He gained confidence and a cheery outlook, and many respected him for that. Although some were weirded out by him. He would be interested in what most would consider "normal for girls". He would play with dolls, pretend to be the princess instead of the dragon, and insist on wearing a tu-tu like the girls whenever he did ballet.Of course he would do stuff that wasn't "ladylike", like play in the mud or look at bugs.
He loved nature as well and found a great deal interest in the old mammalian history. He liked the idea of what dogs used to be, and frogs and bears.
Yes Nicholas grew up extremely happy, and didn't have too many problems. Well, that is until he didn't want to be called "Nicholas" anymore. He was now 14 and sitting at the table, deep in thought.
Then Katrina walked in."Nicholas! There you are sweetie! You texted that you wanted to talk about something?" She asked.
"Y-yeah, there is something." He mumbled.
"Mom, I don't think I'm a boy. I'm a girl, and I kinda want to be called Niki."Katrina froze and stared at her.
"I'm sorry I just really don't feel like myself when anyone calls me Nicholas." She mumbled.Katrina then placed a hand on her head and Niki looked up.
"Sweetie, you don't need to be sorry! I love you just the same Niki dear." She said softly.
Niki stared at her mother then tears formed in her eyes.
"Thanks Mom." She said, hugging her tightly. They stood there for a few minutes, embracing each other.
"Hey, do you want to go get a haircut? Possibly something a little more feminine then this?" Katrina asked, referring to Niki's classic boyish ponytail."Really?!?" Squealed Niki, wiping her tears.
"Really, now come on, we can pick out some new clothes for you too! And how about we have a little coming out movie party? How does that sound?" Katrina said, booping her daughter's nose.
"Yes! That sounds awesome!" She giggled.
~time skip to two years later~
Niki was now 16, and she felt amazing. Katrina had paid for her top-surgery as her 15th birthday present, and she had full support from most of her friends.
A few of her older friends left, finding it weird and disgusting that she was trans however she didn't care too much about them, now she was only enjoying her life as much as she could.
However now she wanted to change another measure of her life with doing another crazy decision.
Move to Inkopolis. She'd read magazines on the lifestyles and the new influence of integration between Inklings and Octolings!
She'd listen to Off the Hook's music all the time, imagining how amazing it would be if she could see them in-person.
