Pale summer moonlight shimmers on the sea floor. An octopus, unaware that dawn will bring capture, rests within a trap, dreaming fleeting dreams...

Her ears were ringing, everything was dark. Then she heard muffled voices. Her eyes slowly open, but the bright light hurt.

"Ah....ahoy.... AHOY! OCTOLING!"

Her eyes shot open to see an old man before her.

"Up and at 'em, ya lazy whiffle-whaffle!" He said.

Then she sat up and screamed. "AIIIIIIEEEEEEE!" She shrieked, her sudden awakening and the stranger terrifying her.

"Woah there! This fight ain't over! No shriekin' now! Prepare for a royal whoopin'!" He said.

She started to tremble, her confusion and fear mixing together all too fast.

"Although, there's no honor in defeating an unarmed opponent...and you seem to have lost your weapon somewhere around here." He mumbled looking around.

"And just where is....here....anyway?" He asked.

"I-I, who...."

Her throat felt dry, and the sound of her voice frightened her.

"Hmm, last thing I remember, you were battling my protégé, Agent 3, in Octo Valley...when both of you were suddenly attacked by someone. And somehow we got marooned here..."

She opened her mouth to say something but nothing came out. Nothing came to her mind.
"Eh, how's about we call a temporary truce while we find a way to escape?"

She nodded, and then managed to say while straining her voice. "W-who y-you?" She asked.

Her inkling was kinda rusty.

"Ah, right, where are my manners...I haven't even told you my name!" He said, helping her up on her feet.

"My name is Cap'n Cuttlefish, leader of the legendary New Squidbeak Splatoon! And you are?"

She opened her mouth to tell him her name, but nothing came to mind.

"Name...name?!? Cod! Can't remember name!" She cried, pulling on her pink tentacle hair.

She couldn't remember anything! Only that she was an octoling and she was 16 years old!

"Can't remember anything!" She said in defeat.

"By Kraken! You can't remember anything when you hit the ground? Anything about yourself? Anything at all?" He asked.

She looked down at herself. She had chocolate colored skin with long pink tentacles, and she was pretty sure she had purple eyes.
"Only, age.....16." She mumbled.

"Astounding." He hummed looking at her.
"I noticed that you were humming the Calamari Inkantation right before you came to... Could it be? Has this heavenly melody been etched into your very soul?!"

She stared at the ground and shrugged.

"I'll take your stunned silence as a yes!" He said. "I've heard tell of Octarians whose souls were etched by those squidtastic grooves...But that was a couple years back during Agent 3's battle with DJ Octavio. Still I can't shake the feeling that this is related somehow."

She stared at him. There was a beautiful melody flowing through her wiped memories maybe that was one thing she remembers.

"In any case sorry for siccing Agent 3 on you back there. Any fan of the Squid Sisters is a friend of mine! I mean that from all my hearts!" He said with a chuckle.
