I stood over the patient's open chest cavity, my hands moving with precision as i worked to repair the damaged heart. My eyes were fixed on the task at hand, trying to focus intensely. but the beeping of the machines surrounding us was the only sound in the room , making it diffult for me to do so. it was a stark reminder of the gravity of the situation.

relax. it's going to be good like always.

"suction." i ordered as the nurse assisting me followed.

As i worked, my mind was a flurry of calculations and assessments, years of training and experience guiding my every next move. The patient's life is in my hands right now , and i'm going to get her out of this OT healthy to her family waiting outside.

I looked over at my team before connecting one end of the healthier graft above the blockage and the other end below it. This is a case of Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting (CABG) and the knowledge of the potential complications associated with this procedure makes it even more challenging. soon , a hush fell over the room as I finished the last stitch, my hands slowly withdrawing from the patient's chest.

The machines beeped steadily, a sign that the patient's vitals were stable.

I looked up, my face exhausted but triumphant. i took a deep breath and let it go. "We did it," i muttered, a hint of relief in my voice.

Everyone around me erupted into cheers, their relief visible. The surgery was a success.

"now that you all have done so well. get some good sleep."  i smiled at everyone who stood beside me for this long 5 hour surgery.  the happiness of finishing this surgery took over the serious enviorment and everyone wrapped themselves getting ready to go home.

It's been a tiring day. I held my hands together, moving them to relax, and my knuckles and wrists cracked as I walked outside of the operating theater. The patient's family rushed towards me worriedly, but stopped when I gave them an assuring smile. All of their faces lit up with hope to see their loved one safe and healthy.

since it's the end of my duty and capacity for today i expect no other pateints today. i just want to grab a pack of icecream and lay down on the terrace looking at the stars-

"Dr. y/n. there's an emergency case for you."

did i...really dream of resting? hahahaha. stupid of me.

"yes. send me the reports." i forced a smile.

"oh. the reports aren't ready yet. but the pateint says he wants to meet you very urgently." she continues.

"oh is that so?. okay. where is he right now?" i questioned.

"10th floor room no. 3001."
