Chapter Twelve

Sorry for all the time skips but I want to move this along)

Time skip: About a year or two.

Y/n's Pov:

Cole brought a large box into my room. He gave me a mischievous glance.

"Happpy birrthhdaaayyy." He sang with a grin. 

"Thanks." I kissed him on the cheek.

The box moved slightly on the bed.

"Cole.. what the hell kinda creature did you smuggle into that box."

"See for yourself." He grinned.

I opened the box slowly. Then gasped as a dog was in the box.

I gaped and squealed softly. She wagged her tail looking up at me with big eyes.

"Newfoundland, Girl, 4 months." Cole smiled, "She's yours."

"Thank you!" I squealed softly, stroking the puppy. Who climbed clumsily out of the box and into my lap.

"What do you want to name her?" Cole said, scratching the big brown dog's ear.

"Maple." I murmured with a smile.

"Thank you Cole. "I hugged him, he hugged me back, Maple cuddled in between us in bed.

Time skip 2x: 

Y/n's Pov:

(On a mission with the rest of the ninja)

I took a deep breath. Running after the gang.

"Y/n? Can you cut them off on main street." Lloyd's voice sounded over the intercom.

"Yep, I got main, Kai? Can you get 5th Avenue?" I asked.

"Yeah I got 'em." Kai said. 

We ran into each other, trapping the gang. I sent a punch at one, taking a defensive position. Cole got distracted watching me with a puzzled expression. Then knocked a guy out. We tied them up and left them for the commissioner.

(Once they got home)

Maple trotted behind me to my room, she jumped up on the bed beside me. Nosing at my leg, looking concerned.

"Y/n?" I heard my husband's voice in the doorway. I was sitting on the bed.

"Mhm?"

"I noticed you took more to the self defense side. You seemed more tired than usual? You sleeping okay?" He said nervously, "No offence but you usually fight your opponent like they blew out your birthday candles."

"Oh yeah.." I said softly, "I am.."

Cole looked unsure. Maple gave a long whine. 

"I-.. I need to tell you something.." I murmured.

He sat down on the bed next to me, "You can tell me anything." He took my hand.

"Cole.. I'm pregnant." I said in a quiet voice, smiling.

Cole froze, then he looked joyful, "Y/n! That's amazing!" He said with a smile that he couldn't stop. Maple barked and rolled over, as Cole grinned and gaped.

"Wait- It's with me right.. It's not someone else..? Right..?" 

"Of course it's with you, you doof." I said, and he smiled again hugging me gently. He was almost jumping up and down.

He gave a soft squeal. Then he smiled softly to himself, "I'm gonna be a dad." He looked starstrucked.

"And Maple's gonna be a big sister." He cooed to the dog scratching her behind the ear,  as she was barking and jumping.
